This does look like a design-focused product with decent specs in terms of performance and range

International brand, Zapp Electric Vehicles Group has announced a strategic partnership with Bounce Infinity, to assemble and distribute Zapp’s i300 scooter. The partnership focuses on leveraging Bounce Infinity’s manufacturing capabilities and extensive market presence to support Zapp’s entry into the Indian market. As part of the agreement, Bounce Infinity will manufacture Zapp’s electric scooter at its state-of-the-art Bhiwadi plant, adhering to the specifications provided by Zapp.

Zapp i300 has a powerful air-cooled interior permanent magnet electric motor delivering a thrilling ride with a top speed of 97 kmph (limited electronically). The i300 does 0 to 50 km/h in 2.4 seconds. It has a curb weight of 120 kg and offers a range of 60-90 km depending on riding mode. It has dual removable 7.2 kWh lithium-ion battery packs. These batteries are conveniently designed for portability and can be charged at any standard wall socket. While a standard charger takes approximately 2 hours for a full charge (420Wh), a fast charger can significantly reduce that time to just 1 hour (840Wh).

A key aspect of this collaboration is Bounce Infinity's role in supporting Zapp EV to obtain the necessary approvals for homologating its products for sale in India. This process is expected to be completed within 120 days from the effective date of the memorandum of understanding. Furthermore, both companies will explore the possibility of a distribution partnership to enhance the availability of Zapp’s products across India.

The commercial rollout of Zapp’s i300 is poised to make a significant impact, particularly as it does not depend on any dedicated charging infrastructure. The Zapp’s i300 features removable and portable battery packs that can be charged from any standard wall socket, making it a practical solution for urban commuters.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both companies and underscores the growing momentum of electric vehicles in India. It is priced at ₹5.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Following the i300, Zapp and Bounce Infinity are set to bring in a design-first product in the Indian electric vehicle market.
