Though its visual resemblance to the DB11 is undeniable, this is only sometimes a negative. It also draws specific components from the DBS Superleggera and appears like a DB11 on steroids, with the same core shape but bursting at the seams. It's 22mm wider than the DB11. The grille is massive now, stretching to the base of the bumper and aggressively tilting forward, with a large air dam squeezing out from behind it. The bonnet traditionally has more curves, troughs, and opens, unlike its predecessor, which hinged at the front. Another unique feature is the wing mirrors with edge-to-edge fixed glass; when you adjust it, the entire pod moves, not just the glass.

The large air vent behind the front wheels is an import from the DBS, and the DB12 rides on 21-inch wheels front and back with a monster 325-section rear tyre. It utilises specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport 5S AML (Aston Martin Lagonda) tyres, as the DB11 did with the Bridgestone Potenza S 007. You still have the narrow, C-shaped LED taillights and the pinched roof that flows down into the broad tail. The C-Pillars contain intakes that direct air through the boot lid and out of a tiny active spoiler, reducing the need for extensive aerodynamic addenda. Unfortunately, the boot is small, with just 263 litres, so your grand travelling would be limited to a weekend.
