The German automobile manufacturer BMW unveiled the 2018 version of luxurious M4 coupe during the Auto Expo. This premium sedan will be available at INR 1.33 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi) in India. BMW decided to release M4 through CBU (completely built-up units) route. The car comes with more powerful 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine and some minor cosmetic tweaks. Since this is a model year upgrade, the basic structure and foundation remain the same as earlier cars. The automobile experts feel M4 would lock horns with other premium sedans like Audi RS5, Audi RS7, and Mercedes AMG C63 S.
BMW M4 has one of the most stylish and dazzling exteriors with redesigned standard adaptive LED lighting system. You get the new semicircular DRLs (daytime running lights) which is akin to the headlights in X5 and X7 series. There is a high gloss shadow line trim in several places like the windows, front grille, exterior mirror frames, and side gills. The tail lamp at the rear end comes with an attractive new diffuser. You can book the car in eight bright shades- Austin Yellow Metallic, Silver Stone Metallic, Mineral Grey Metallic, Yas Marin Blue Metallic, Alpine White, Mineral White Metallic, Sakhir Orange Metallic, and Black Sapphire Metallic. Another highlight of M4 is the stylish 19-inch alloy wheels remaining surrounded by 255/35 R19 and 275/35 R19 tires in the front and rear end respectively.
M4 has refined and high-finished interiors with superb ergonomics. It comes with a single-piece carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic roof, ergonomically designed spacious seats with lumbar support, and front and rear armrests. The leather wrapped three-spoke steering wheel has two buttons M1 and M2 helping you to assign specific setting in the sedan. There are three drive modes- Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ which you need to select based on the journey types. The infotainment system gets powered by an 8.8-inch widescreen display coming with top-notch features like DAB tuner, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, iDrive controller, satellite navigation, and BMW's online services offering real-time traffic information.
M4 gets powered by TwinPower Turbo Inline 6-cylinder Engine churning up 431 bhp@5500-7300 rpm and a peak torque of 550 Nm@1850-5500 rpm. It has one of the fastest acceleration, and you can zoom from 0 to 100 Kmph in just 4.1 seconds. The top speed is 250 Kmph while the fuel efficiency is 10.75 Kmpl. The coupe has 7-speed automatic transmission gearbox supplying power to the rear wheels. You get all the contemporary safety features like multiple airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Engine Immobilizer, and Keyless Entry.
BMW M4 comes with a host of attractive features which makes it one of the most sought-after couples in the premium category.
The high-performance Twin-Power Turbo Inline engine makes the drive silky-smooth. The dual-clutch automatic transmission makes the car glide from 0- 100 Kmph in just 4.1 seconds.
The highest performance comes with weight-saving efforts in every corner including the lightweight alloy wheels, roof panel, trunk lid and the driveshaft made from Carbon-Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP).
M4 is also one of the most technologically advanced cars with a host of safety features and cruise control system.
In spite of offering so many benefits, there are some drawbacks in M4.
The pricing of M4 at INR 1.33 crore is a bit too high for the Indian market.
The fuel efficiency of only 10.75 Kmpl could have been better. There are many other cars of similar power offering better mileage.
So, we can say that M4 is a brilliant car if you consider its powerful engine and stylish body. However, no extraordinary vehicle comes at a competitive price range. If you can invest INR 1.33 crore, M4 is the best car for you.
