The SUV-Coupe has been imported to India through the CBU route, with BMW indicating a limited availability of units without specifying a precise number.

Compared to the previous standard X4 model, the M40i variant receives a more aggressive design to accentuate its sporting characteristics. While the bumpers align with those of the M Sport model, the M40i distinguishes itself with the twin-slat BMW M kidney grille and the extended Shadowline package, which darkens various exterior cosmetic elements, including the grille, wing mirrors, and wheels. Additionally, the SUV rides on newly designed 20-inch M alloy wheels.
