Land Rover Defender: Old vs Facelift

The newest Defender was launched in 2020 with significant enhancements. The following section will highlight the changes of the facelift Defender with the outgoing model. 

Exterior

The classic Defender boasts a commanding stance, broad wheel arches, and a simple, uncomplicated design. The 2020 Defender adopts a new strategy while retaining some of the former model's peculiarities. It also gets more refined design elements and contemporary LED headlights. Moving on to the sides, the most recent Defender model still has the Alpine window installed at the top. 

The wide windows and boxy wheel arches are still present. Although they are now larger, the air intakes on the fenders have remained the same. However, unlike with the previous Defender, there are no exposed door hinges. The original Defender had a simple, round-shaped tail lamp design at the back. However, the new Defender gets square LED tail lamp units.

Interior

The cabin is where the 2020 Defender gets some significant improvements; the cabin no longer looks plain because it now has every creature comfort imaginable, including a 10-inch infotainment system. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a four-spoke steering wheel with several controls are also included with the new Defender. However, the two SUVs have one thing in common: the sizable, ergonomically placed controls.
