Safety

The Land Rover Discovery has earned a five-star rating from NCAP for its robust safety elements. Its optimised aluminium body structure prioritises safety by giving passengers a sturdy and solid safety cell. Extensive computer simulations optimise the crash structure, enabling several virtual crash tests even before the availability of physical prototypes. The occupant safety package includes a full range of airbags and restraint systems, such as side curtain and thorax airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners, and driver and passenger airbags. 

The Discovery's eight airbags provide improved occupant protection in various situations. Seat belt pre-tensioners function in tandem with airbags to further protect people from forward movement during front crashes. According to the firm, the rear AC vents have been moved from the B-pillars to the centre console for improved airflow, and the second-row seats now offer better lateral and thigh support. 

Customers can also specify the cabin with non-leather upholstery made of recycled polyester microfiber. New touch controls have been added to the revamped air conditioning panel. The rotary gear knob from the previous Discovery has been replaced further down with a more traditional layout that includes a short gear selector. The large, four-spoke steering is also new.

The new infotainment system, called the Pivi Pro, is reportedly far easier to use than the 10-inch Touch Pro display it replaces. It was inspired by the most recent generation of JLR vehicles. Over-the-air (OTA) updates, connected car technology, PM2.5 cabin air filtration, and the company's "ClearSight Ground View" system are a few of the noteworthy features.
