The Mahindra BE 6 is an eye-catching futuristic compact SUV launched by the car maker to cater to the rising demand for EVs. It comes in an affordable price bracket of ₹ 18.90 lakhs to ₹21.90 lakhs (ex-showroom Pan India) for its three variants: Pack One, Pack Two and Pack Three, with the latter two set for release. It comes in two battery pack choices along with a host of high-end comfort, entertainment and safety features. It builds on and introduces Mahindra's scalable platform, INGLO.

The BE 6 was launched in December 2024 and, in just a few days, has received a lot of attention from car enthusiasts across the nation. As it prepares to reach the dealerships, here's a quick look at its key features and specifications that you can consider before opting for this stylish EV. 

• Design Language: It has a coupe-style silhouette distinguished by prominent curves and lines from the front fascia to the sides and even the rear end. It has a new illuminated logo and a closed-off front grille, along with flared wheel arches and a blackened bumper.

• Dimensions: The BE 6 measures 4371 mm in length, 1907 mm in width, and 1627 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2775 mm. 

• Lighting Fixtures: It houses C-shaped LED daytime running lamps with sleek headlamps and full-width wraparound LED tail-lights. 

• Wheels: It houses prominent R19 wheels. 

• Door Handles: It gets flush-type door handles on the outside and strap-like door grab handles on the inside. 

• Sunroof: The BE 6 gets an infinity roof and LightMeUp function which offers an immersive panoramic glass skyward view. The fixed glass roof has ambient lighting with different patterns.

• Seats: It gets an electrically adjustable driver's seat with a memory function.

• Displays: The BE 6 houses two large screens: a 12.3-inch floating-type touchscreen infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display. It also gets a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) feature, enabling passengers to plug in external devices on the front seat backs and stream different content.

• Battery: The BE 6 has two Lithium-ion battery pack options. There is a 59kWh and a 79kWh option. The compact three-in-one powertrain has an inverter, a transmission, and an electric motor, and it has BYD's blade cell technology.

• Transmission: The EV SUV comes with a 1-speed automatic transmission. 

• Range: The 59kWh battery offers a range of 535 km, while the 79kWh offers a range of 682 kms. 

• Performance: The BE 6 can go from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.7 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 202 km/h. 

• Charging: With a 175kW DC fast charger, it can go from 20% to 80% in 20 mins. A standard 11.2kW AC charger takes 8 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 100%.

• Safety Features: Its key safety features include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Hill Assist, ISOFIX, a 360-degree surround view camera,  Impact Sensing Auto Door Unlock and Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock.

• ADAS: It comes with Level 2 ADAS features functioning on 5 radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and 1 camera. There is an Autopark function with 12 ultrasonic sensors supporting perpendicular, angular, and parallel parking. It also supports reverse assist and a remote-controlled option. To track driver fatigue, it is also equipped with a driver and occupant monitoring system.

• Ground Clearance: The BE 6 comes with an impressive ground clearance of 207 mm, indicating its off-road tackling abilities. 

• Boot Space: It has a spacious boot capacity of 455 litres. There is also a 45-litre frunk space for additional storage options.

• Battery Pack: The Tata Curvv EV and the Mahindra BE 6 both come with two battery pack choices. The Curvv Ev gets a 45 kWh and a 55 kWh option, while the BE 6 gets a larger 59kWh and a 79kWh option.

• Displays: The Tata Curvv EV and the Mahindra BE 6 come with 12.3-inch touchscreen displays. The driver's digital display of the Curvv EV is, however, smaller at 10.25 inches, while that of the BE 6 is 12.3 inches.

• Audio: The Tata Curvv EV comes with a 9-speaker JBL-tuned sound system, while the Mahindra BE 6 gets a Dolby Atmos 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. 

• Airbags: The Tata Curvv EV comes with six airbags, which is one less than that of the Mahindra BE 6. 

• Boot Space: The Tata Curvv EV has a boot space of 500 litres, which is around 45 litres more than that of the Mahindra BE 6.

• Displays: The MG ZS EV houses a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital driver's display. The Mahindra BE 6 hosts larger 12.3-inch screens for both infotainment and the driver's digital display. 

• Airbags: The MG ZS EV has six airbags. The Mahindra BE 6 has one more, making it seven. 

• Boot Space: The MG ZS EV has a boot space of 448 litres, which is just 7 litres less than that of the Mahindra BE 6.
