The Levante is Maserati's first attempt in the SUV market because there is high demand for these types of cars worldwide. It was shown to people for the first time in early 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show, and it entered the Indian car market in 2018. This sports SUV will join the brand's current lineup of sports cars, which includes the Ghibli, Quattroporte, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio.

Exterior Design 

Maserati Levante shows both its elegant look and a clear aim for dynamic driving. There are two choices of models: the Levante GranLusso and the Levante GranSport. The new lower grille also features Black Piano blades. Additionally, the latest Sport bumper and roof rails have matching bold trim. 

Like the GranLusso, the GranSport trim offers side skirts and other parts that match the body colour. New additions to the back exterior involve a Sport bumper, a Black Piano extractor, and an insert in Matt Black. There are touches of sporty colour, too, since the GranSport's big 20” Nereo light alloy wheels come with callipers in bright red.

Interior and Features

Inside the Levante, you can feel the real Maserati spirit. This means classy Italian design, carefully made details and a racing energy that makes long trips exciting and comfortable. There is also a freeing feeling of wide-open space inside the vehicle. Combined with the high SUV driving position, this might be unexpected because of the car's coupe-like outside look. Inside features have optional Pieno Fiore Natural leather for seats and hand-stitched leather on the side panels of the dashboard. Other places use either real wood or Black Piano trim. 

The entertainment system has a fancy aluminium rotary controller to operate it. And it has plenty of smart storage, the option to fold down 60/40 rear seats and a big luggage space that holds 580 litres. You can reach this space easily using an optional kick sensor. This lets you open the back door just by waving your foot under the bumper at the back. Other practicalities include dual-zone or optional four-zone climate control and an Air Quality Sensor.

All this, though, can be better with Levante GranLusso inside comforts. It has front Comfort seats that you can adjust in 12 different ways to remember your favourite setting. Full premium Italian leather, Pieno Fiore natural leather, or Ermenegildo Zegna silk upholstery is available. This pairs with a high-quality leather dashboard, armrest, and door panels. There is also an eye-catching Black Piano trim, and you can choose to have a power-adjustable steering wheel covered in nice wood.

The list includes: an advanced navigation system, front and rear parking sensors, illuminated doorsills light up the entry to Levante GranLusso, and also you can choose Harman Kardon Premium Sound system. This car is the only SUV category offering power foot pedals as an optional feature.

The V6 engines for the Levante are designed by Maserati Powertrain and made at Ferrari's Maranello factory just for Maserati—they meet all expectations. Depending on the version, the engine size is between 2979 cc and 2987 cc.

The petrol model has a 3-litre V6 twin-turbo engine that produces 345bhp. The diesel version has a 3-litre V6 turbo engine that produces 274bhp.

The advanced ZF automatic 8-speed gearbox gives full, direct, and efficient control of the Levante's big power and impressive flexibility. With a new two-lane gear lever with a special Park button, the refined eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox provides better comfort, quicker gear changes, improved fuel use, and higher refinement. The new system cancels the requirement for the Manual button because now, the driver only needs to push the gear lever into the left side channel to choose this mode.

Maserati Levante Performance
