The Levante is Maserati's first attempt in the SUV market because there is high demand for these types of cars worldwide. It was shown to people for the first time in early 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show, and it entered the Indian car market in 2018. This sports SUV will join the brand's current lineup of sports cars, which includes the Ghibli, Quattroporte, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio.
The special front of the car shows off-angled headlamps separated by a big grille with vertical slats spaced nicely apart. From the side view, you notice 18-inch alloy wheels, a long hood, and a sharply slanted C-pillar that stands out. Go to the back part, and you see Levante displays its sloping rear windscreen and smooth body panels.
Inside the Levante, everything is nicely arranged with high-class materials and leather. Buyers can choose from different colours and trims. The cabin has a lot of space and is very roomy at the rear, even though the roofline slopes a bit.
Maserati Levante has two engine options, one petrol and one diesel. The 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine and a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine are there. Both engines use eight-speed automatic transmission and give top power output of 275 - 350 bhp with torque between 580 Nm - 500 Nm.
The Maserati SUV is similar because it has strong power but always stays under full control. Following the true tradition of Maserati grand touring, your comfort will never be bothered – no matter how fast or far you travel. The Levante maintains its classy style even when roads are rough due to the smart Q4 AWD system.

Maserati Levante shows both its elegant look and a clear aim for dynamic driving. There are two choices of models: the Levante GranLusso and the Levante GranSport. With the GranLusso, the style aims at luxury. With the GranSport, it’s more about the exciting driving feel. When talking about design style, the Levante clearly shows Maserati's touch. No matter where you look, the message is solid and attractive. Visual and functional highlights include a striking front grille with shiny chrome bars, which looks more potent because of the larger SUV size.
Strong front wings also curve up and have three famous air vents. The Saetta logo is always in the sharply pointed, coupé-style back part. These little things, with windows without frames on doors, a small spoiler, and four exhaust pipes, make a strong impression that this vehicle is unique and powerful in every way.
To improve your paint choices and give Levante more visual appeal, two new exciting colours have been added to the outer colour options: Rosso Potente and Blu Nobile. Each shows a different part of Maserati's character, but both showcase the boldness and elegance for which Maserati is famous.
The GranLusso trim gives many unique details for drivers who like more luxury. Besides having protection plates under the front bumper—showing that it can be a four-by-four vehicle—it now has shiny chrome accents that catch the eye. The roof rails also have a metal trim. In other places, the GranLusso badge fits perfectly into the front wings. The side skirts and other small parts have the same colour as the rest of the outside, including the back wing. The brake callipers are painted in eye-catching black.
The Levante GranSport clearly feels dynamic. The outside looks sharper, with small but strong design details everywhere. At the front, a big, strong grille with a Black Piano finish with black bars. The new lower grille also features Black Piano blades. Additionally, the latest Sport bumper and roof rails have matching bold trim.
Like the GranLusso, the GranSport trim offers side skirts and other parts that match the body colour. New additions to the back exterior involve a Sport bumper, a Black Piano extractor, and an insert in Matt Black. There are touches of sporty colour, too, since the GranSport's big 20” Nereo light alloy wheels come with callipers in bright red.
Inside the Levante, you can feel the real Maserati spirit. This means classy Italian design, carefully made details and a racing energy that makes long trips exciting and comfortable. There is also a freeing feeling of wide-open space inside the vehicle. Combined with the high SUV driving position, this might be unexpected because of the car's coupe-like outside look. Inside features have optional Pieno Fiore Natural leather for seats and hand-stitched leather on the side panels of the dashboard. Other places use either real wood or Black Piano trim.
The entertainment system has a fancy aluminium rotary controller to operate it. And it has plenty of smart storage, the option to fold down 60/40 rear seats and a big luggage space that holds 580 litres. You can reach this space easily using an optional kick sensor. This lets you open the back door just by waving your foot under the bumper at the back. Other practicalities include dual-zone or optional four-zone climate control and an Air Quality Sensor.
All this, though, can be better with Levante GranLusso inside comforts. It has front Comfort seats that you can adjust in 12 different ways to remember your favourite setting. Full premium Italian leather, Pieno Fiore natural leather, or Ermenegildo Zegna silk upholstery is available. This pairs with a high-quality leather dashboard, armrest, and door panels. There is also an eye-catching Black Piano trim, and you can choose to have a power-adjustable steering wheel covered in nice wood.
The list includes: an advanced navigation system, front and rear parking sensors, illuminated doorsills light up the entry to Levante GranLusso, and also you can choose Harman Kardon Premium Sound system. This car is the only SUV category offering power foot pedals as an optional feature.
The GranSport trim has front Sport seats that can be adjusted in 12 ways and have a memory feature. It also has a power-adjustable Sport steering wheel with many function buttons. You will find brushed chrome gearshift paddles and pedals made from aluminum with a sporty finish. Many carbon trim options can make the motorsport vibe even stronger. The GranSport has front and back parking sensors and a high-tech navigation system for everyday use.
The V6 engines for the Levante are designed by Maserati Powertrain and made at Ferrari's Maranello factory just for Maserati—they meet all expectations. Depending on the version, the engine size is between 2979 cc and 2987 cc.
The petrol model has a 3-litre V6 twin-turbo engine that produces 345bhp. The diesel version has a 3-litre V6 turbo engine that produces 274bhp.
The advanced ZF automatic 8-speed gearbox gives full, direct, and efficient control of the Levante's big power and impressive flexibility. With a new two-lane gear lever with a special Park button, the refined eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox provides better comfort, quicker gear changes, improved fuel use, and higher refinement. The new system cancels the requirement for the Manual button because now, the driver only needs to push the gear lever into the left side channel to choose this mode.
The Maserati performance is very good. It has adaptive air suspension and an all-wheel-drive system, ensuring it handles well and stays stable even when driving fast. The Levante's dynamic driving modes, such as normal mode, sport mode, and both manual and automatic off-road modes, provide flexibility for different driving conditions. The Levante can reach a top speed between 230 to 264 kmph. Making the car accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph takes around 5.2 s to 6.9 s, based on which model you choose. This SUV does a very good job no matter what kind of road or obstacles are present. The Levante maintains its classy style even when roads are rough due to the smart Q4 AWD system. The Levante mixes Maserati’s famous luxury with thrilling performance, making it special in the high-end SUV market.
The Maserati Levante's ARAI mileage is 12 kmpl. While not the most fuel-efficient, its mileage is balanced by its robust performance and luxurious features.
The Maserati Levante has a ground clearance of 205 mm. This makes it good for driving on different types of roads and areas, giving a comfortable ride on normal streets or rough paths.
The Maserati Levante offers a large trunk space of 580 litres, which can expand when the back seats are folded down. This big space is good for holding bags and other items, making it useful for daily use and longer journeys, too.
The Maserati Levante is 5003 mm long, 2158 mm wide, and 1693 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3004 mm. These dimensions give it plenty of room inside but still keep it looking stylish and lively from the outside.
The Maserati Levante is available in 4 colour options:
White
