About Jeep

The World War II "Jeep" that entered production in 1941 specifically connected the name to this light military 4x4, making them perhaps the oldest four-wheel drive mass-production vehicles today known as SUVs. Several corporations have controlled the Jeep brand, including Willys-Overland Motors, Kaiser Jeep, and American Motors Corporation (AMC). Chrysler purchased the Jeep brand and other assets from AMC in 1987. Jeep is now a subsidiary of the international firm Stellantis.

The SUV manufacturer entered the Indian market in 2016 by introducing the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler, which were imported via the CBU route. Jeep, part of the FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) group, launched the Wrangler Unlimited, Grand Cherokee SRT, and Grand Cherokee in India in 2016. All three models were delivered as CBUs (completely built-up units) at significantly higher prices.

The Jeep brand has continued to expand its offerings in India with several new models that cater to different customer preferences. In 2022, Jeep launched the Meridian, a seven-seater SUV based on the Compass platform. The Meridian offers a premium experience with spacious interiors, advanced technology, and a powerful diesel engine, making it ideal for family outings and long journeys.

The New Grand Cherokee was launched in 2022. It boasts a modern design, luxurious features, and cutting-edge technology. The Grand Cherokee now comes with a petrol engine option and is positioned as a flagship offering in Jeep's Indian lineup, appealing to premium SUV buyers.

Additionally, the All-New Wrangler was introduced in 2024. It now features more advanced off-road capabilities and a refined interior. It is assembled locally in India, making it more affordable than the earlier versions imported via the CBU route.

Notable Jeep Cars

Jeep's entry into the Indian market began in 2016 with the launch of the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. The Grand Cherokee combined luxury with off-road capabilities, featuring a powerful engine and advanced 4x4 systems, appealing to premium SUV enthusiasts. The iconic Wrangler brought rugged design and unmatched off-road prowess thanks to its powerful engine and customisable features like removable doors.

In 2017, Jeep made a significant mark with the Compass, a locally manufactured compact SUV that balanced off-road heritage with urban practicality and offered petrol and diesel options. In 2022, Jeep introduced the three-row Meridian, appealing to families with its spacious design and 4x4 capabilities. The same year saw the launch of the fifth-gen Grand Cherokee with a turbo-petrol engine and luxury features. In 2024, the updated Wrangler Unlimited and Rubicon feature modern infotainment and enhanced safety, maintaining Jeep's reputation for combining capability with innovation.

Improved road manners complement off-road grit courtesy of powertrain and suspension upgrades. New ADAS safety features provide advanced driver assistance so you can confidently explore trails. The Wrangler formula endures—embodying an adventurous spirit now modernised with everyday livability.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

The new Grand Cherokee elevates Jeep's flagship SUV, combining legendary capability with luxury appointments. Athletic exterior profiles house a well-appointed cabin with quilted leather, a 10-inch touchscreen, premium sound and an array of comfort and convenience enhancements. The robust drivetrain optimises 272 bhp and 400nm of torque over all terrains via Quadra-Trac 4x4 assurance, while drive modes span sand to snow settings. A suite of ADAS safety tech and a 360-degree camera enables stress-free adventures, cementing the Grand Cherokee’s reputation for building rugged endurance into a refined, family-ready package.

Jeep Market Share

Their SUV lineup caters to a wide range of needs, from minor to major, with excellent visibility, ample seating, and unwavering off-road abilities, making them ideal for a wide range of drivers looking for every travel and luxury.

Safety

The Compass now has more contemporary safety capabilities than in advance. The Jeep Meridian is a compact SUV with all-wheel power, boasting a sleek format for a seven-seater. It has six airbags, traction and stability control systems, ABS, EBD, and camera systems to boost driver awareness. Renowned for off-road resilience, the Jeep Wrangler prioritises energetic and passive safety, advanced technology, and airbag systems. Beyond the rugged front and side airbag coverage, all 2024 models integrate cutting-edge ADAS features like collision warnings and blind spot monitoring. This enables adventurers to explore trails and highways with greater confidence.

The refined yet rugged Jeep Grand Cherokee houses next-generation safety inside its iconic profile. It has a 360º Surround-View Camera, advanced ADAS, and Active Driver Assist for highway protection. Design

Jeep has a rich record of innovation and layout. Over the years, the emblem has introduced diverse fashions which have revolutionised the 4x4 marketplace. For example, in the 1980s, the All-New Jeep Cherokee (XJ) brought many industry firsts, including the primary compact four-door SUV, the primary UniFrame advent, and the primary complete-time 4x4 gadget with shift-on-the-fly capability.

In the 2020s, Jeep has persevered to reflect the different dreams of adventure enthusiasts by bringing decreased returns of classics and introducing destiny-dealing with generations. The 2021 redesign of the large SUV includes a brand-new sculpted exterior, a tapered roof for aerodynamic performance, a front silhouette inspired by the use of historically significant luxury Jeep cars, expansive sight lines, updated linear design, expansive glass, and an entire suite of top-notch LED lighting fixtures, demonstrating the commitment to both history and innovation.

Jeep continues ushering in new design eras in 2024 while preserving the brand's renowned aesthetic. Take the refreshed Wrangler—its iconic seven-slot grille sports sleek grey metallic bezels with black textured slots, now colour-matched to the body paint for sharp cohesion. Paint options also expand across the palate from red to green hues that shine on muscular yet streamlined new silhouettes optimised for aerodynamic performance.

LED lighting permeates the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee lines for artful illumination. With sculpted armour coating high-tech safety advancements, drivers can chase any horizon in retro-inspired style fused with future-forward comfort.
