The teaser shows an updated instrument cluster
Taking to its social media account, Bajaj Auto has confirmed that the electric Chetak is set for an update and the launch for the same will take place on January 5.
The teased photo showcases a new and updated colour-TFT instrument cluster with the turn-by-turn navigation display. Other noticeable details on the cluster include Bluetooth connectivity, therefore features like music controls, call/SMS alerts, etc are also expected to debut. We think that this new cluster unit will not have touchscreen capability, but it will definitely only be available with the Chetak Premium variant.
Further details like an extended seat and an updated footboard design have also been teased. There is a strong possibility that Bajaj might also introduce new colour options with the upcoming model.
The teaser comes barely after a month Bajaj launched the Chetak Urbane variant. The entry-level model slots below the Chetak Premium variant and the feature list has been curated to make it ideal for city use only. For example, it is available with just one ride mode, can do 113km of IDC range on a single charge, comes with a less powerful 650W charger, and gets drum brakes as standard.
However, if you want a bit more oomph to the Urbane variant, Bajaj is also offering a “TECPAC” package that will get you Sport mode, hill-hold, and reverse mode, and will also increase its top speed from 63kmph to 73 kmph. This is quite like the Ather Pro Pack that gets you additional features with your 450X like Park assist, five ride modes (compared to the standard four modes), and reduced charge time.
Prices for the Bajaj Chetak at the moment starts from ₹1.15 lakh with the Urban variant, and with the TECPAC package it shoots up to ₹1.23 Lakh. So, expect Bajaj to offer this Premium variant at ₹ 1.25 lakh onwards with its own TECPAC version arriving at an additional ₹10,000.
