Have the updates made the new 2024 Bajaj Chetak better than the TVS iQube S?
The newly launched 2024 Bajaj Chetak Premium is now available in two variants. There’s the standard variant, and for some extra moolah, you’ll have the TecPac variant. The latter gets you a plethora of features which brings it on par with some of its main rivals. So, how better has the new 2024 Chetak Premium become in terms of features, especially when compared with the TVS iQube S, its direct rival?
The standard 2024 Chetak Premium now gains a new monochrome 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. The unit looks better than before and also has a more premium appeal. It supports Bluetooth connectivity as well, however, app connectivity functionalities are limited with this variant. You only have access to some key information like vehicle health, tamper alert, etc. The Chetak is also available with a key fob and USB charging slot as standard.
Aside from that, the standard Chetak Premium is available with just one ride mode (ECO), and reverse mode as its key features. With the TecPac, it gains Sport mode, hill-hold assist, a colour 5-inch TFT instrument cluster which displays turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, music controls, and even the benefit to toggle through different display themes on the cluster.
The TVS iQube S is a mid-variant model in the iQube line-up. Unlike the Chetak, there are no additional packages on offer. You get what you see. So for starters, there’s a larger 7-inch colour TFT instrument cluster with auto day/night settings. There’s also a joystick available with the iQube S to toggle through features on the cluster. These include the likes of turn-by-turn navigation, music control, incognito, call alert, music control, battery level indicator, and side standard indicator.
More so, the iQube S is also available with two ride modes (Eco, Power), hill-hold assist, and reverse assist. TVS also equips the iQube S with safety features like geofencing, anti-theft alert, and live location status (via your phone) available as part of the standard package. However, unlike the Chetak, the iQube S gets a flip key instead.
With all the bells and whistles (TecPac), the 2024 Bajaj Chetak is priced at ₹1.45 lakh, and without the TecPac it will cost you ₹ 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The mid-variant TVS iQube S on the contrary is priced at ₹ 1.40 lakh (with FAME-II subsidies, ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
