The updated Yamaha R15M gets new features and cosmetic upgrades.

With the festive season fast approaching, Yamaha India has updated one of its most popular motorcycle offerings in our country. The Japanese brand has launched the Yamaha R15M with turn-by-turn navigation along with music and volume control function. The rider can access these functions via the Y-Connect application. Other updates include a revised switchgear and a new LED licence plate.

On the visual front, the Yamaha R15M gets new faux carbon fibre body panels which have been inspired from the one found on the Yamaha R1 superbike. Unlike the real carbon fibre panels seen on the flagship Yamaha superbike, the faux finish on the R15M is done via water-dipping technology and it’s visible on the front cowl, sides fairing, and the flanks of the rear side panels. Other visual elements include blue wheels and revised graphics on the fuel tank and the fairing.

Mechanically no changes have been made and the 2024 Yamaha R15M is powered by the same 155 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine churning out 18.10 bhp and 14.2 Nm. The 6-speed gearbox has been carried forward and so is the upshift-only quick shifter and a traction control system. All the above updates comes at a price as the R15M with carbon fibre pattern is the most expensive variant of the bike at ₹2.08 lakh, whereas the Yamaha R15M in metallic grey will set you back by ₹1.98 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi).
