At ₹2.10 lakh, is the updated Yezdi Adventure the best motorcycle in its segment?
Yezdi updated its only ADV motorcycle in its portfolio – the Adventure – with many updates. These updates have enhanced the ADV’s aesthetics in the form of new colour options and the company claims that the bike is more refined. However, despite these changes, the Yezdi Adventure looks the same as before, with the same body panels. So, from a holistic point of view, the bike has not undergone any critical changes as such. However, at the same price point, you may consider some interesting options. Check out the list below:
If the Yezdi Adventure’s conventional styling does not impress you, how about the Suzuki V-Strom SX? Yes, the V-Strom 250 is less powerful than the Yezdi Adventure, with its 250 cc engine producing just 26 bhp/ 22.2 Nm. However, that doesn’t take away the fact that it is one of the best touring machines in this segment. Right from its suspension setup to engine tune and that comfortable seat – the Suzuki V-Strom SX feels like a complete package. Also, it’s a good commuter as well.
Meanwhile, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 might have been replaced by the new, more capable Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. However, the former continues, albeit in a much more toned down, road-biased offering in the form of the Scram 411. With a sticker price of ₹2.09 lakh onwards (ex-showroom), the Royal Enfield Scram 411 is a direct rival to the updated Yezdi Adventure. So, if you’re still a fan of that torquey 411 cc engine and would prefer something that will feel at ease in the city and on highways, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 is still worth consideration.
However, if you want something more engaging, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 should be your cuppa. Based on the same platform as the KTM 250 Duke and powered by the same 30.84 bhp/ 24 Nm, 248 cc, single-cylinder engine – this Husky differs from the ‘Orange’ bike in terms of styling that is toned down and unaggressive. Yes, it does command a premium of ₹10,000 over the Yezdi Adventure; however, if you want something thrilling and unique, then this alter ego of the KTM 250 Duke from Husqvarna should be in your consideration list.
But if all the above doesn’t impress you, and you want something rooted in heritage that delivers an unrivalled riding experience, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 should be your choice. Yes, it neither rides fast or quick nor comes loaded with a gamut of features. However, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 offers you the quintessential roadster experience. To make matters all the more convincing, the Classic 350, with its sub-2 lakh ex-showroom price, is also quite easy on the pocket.
