Updates have been rolled out to the standard, S and Pikes Peak trims
The Ducati Multistrada V4 is truly one of the most spectacular ADVs in the market. The popularity of the Italian ADV series has grown significantly over the years with the V4 engine making it truly exquisite to ride and behold. Continuing the tradition to excel and improve the package, the Bologna-based bikemaker has taken the wraps off the 2025 edition of the Multistrada V4 that aims to optimise everything good from the older model.
Despite the unmistakably Multistrada design, the new V4 carries some small but noticeable changes that make the bike look a lot meaner and ferocious. The front coloured panels are more cohesive on the bike. The side panels now arrive in a darker shade of grey, the same that is used for the double-sided swingarm and the frame side plates, thus amplifying the sporty intent of the bike. While the standard continues to arrive in the traditional Ducati Red colour scheme only, the S model gets new Thrilling Black and Artic White shades. The special race-inspired livery continues on the Pikes Peak version as well.
Ducati has been championing the need for electronic rider aids for years now and with the new Multistrada V4 S, it has taken things a step further. The bike’s semi-active suspension system is now equipped with a front position sensor. This allows the motorcycle’s electronic brain to automatically adapt the tuning of the rear monoshock to be in compliance with the damping at the front. These are riding mode dependent and hence will offer more or less bump absorption according to the riding intent. Having said that, Ducati states that the front sensor will improve stability which is key when you are managing a 170 bhp behemoth.
Ducati has adopted an automatic lowering device, which allows the bike to squat down when stationary by 15 mm to 30 mm lower, depending on the load on the bike. The bike will start rising itself up once again when you cross speeds of 10 kmph and will regain to full length above 50 kmph.
There’s further improvement in the overall electronic rider suite with the engine cylinder deactivation technology further enhanced to deliver slightly more fuel efficiency in slow speed riding situations. Unlike earlier when the system only engaged when the bike was stationary, the system continues to stay in effect up to certain speeds.
At the heart of the Multistrada V4 lies the same 1,158 cc Granturismo V4 mill that has 170 thoroughbred Italian stallions at its disposal. The engine gains a new riding mode called Wet, where the electronics give you better control over the less grippy surfaces. There’s also the Enduro riding mode that has been borrowed over from the Multistrada V4 Rally that lowers the engine output to 114 bhp, cuts ABS intervention at the rear wheel and various other electronic nannies are restricted for you to enjoy mucking around on the bike. Lastly, the exhaust has been slimmed down as well while keeping modern emission norms in check.
Ducati hasn’t really changed the foundations of the bike. The swingarm pivot point has been raised by 1 mm, which Ducati believes has further helped reduce the anti-squat effect at the rear during acceleration while still maintaining great handling characteristics. Furthermore, Ducati will now offer the V4 S with forged rims that will reduce the unsprung mass by 2 kilos. This reduction in the gyroscopic effect of the bike will lead to better handling and more thrills on the road.
We expect the updated Multistrada V4s to arrive on our shores early next year. Prices for each trim is likely to go up by roughly ₹1-1.5 lakh. The standard V4 costs ₹21.48 lakh while the top Pikes Peak costs ₹31.48 lakh (ex-showroom India).
