While Tata has introduced multiple new variants over the years, this facelift is expected to bring notable design and feature enhancements.
Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce a major update for its premium hatchback, the Altroz. Acko Drive chanced upon the upcoming Tata Altroz facelift, marking the first significant upgrade since the model’s debut five years ago. While Tata has introduced multiple new variants over the years, this facelift is expected to bring notable design and feature enhancements.
The camouflaged test mule hints at several exterior changes. The fascia is expected to get a redesigned bumper with sharper lines and repositioned fog lamps. The headlamp clusters appear to be tweaked, potentially integrating LED elements for improved illumination. The rear section could also receive sportier tail lamps, enhancing the car’s overall aesthetics. Additionally, a fresh set of alloy wheels is likely to be introduced, further refining the vehicle’s visual appeal.
Although Tata Motors has not revealed interior details, reports suggest the facelifted Altroz might receive an upgraded infotainment system, possibly a 10.25-inch touchscreen, similar to what’s offered in newer Tata models like the Nexon and Punch EV. The car could also feature a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, and six airbags. The current feature list, which includes an electric sunroof, rear AC vents, wireless mobile projection, and iRA-connected car technology, is likely to be retained.
The updated Altroz is expected to continue with the existing range of engine options. These include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (88 bhp) with manual and automatic transmission options, a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine (120 bhp) with a 6-speed automatic, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (90 bhp) paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, Tata could continue offering the CNG variant powered by a 1.2-litre petrol-CNG engine producing 73.5 bhp.
The facelifted Altroz will compete in the premium hatchback segment against models like the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Maruti Suzuki Swift. While Tata Motors has not confirmed an official launch date, given the ongoing testing phase, the updated Altroz is expected to debut later this year.
