The new range of Yamaha Tracer sport tourers not only look different, but has also received some mechanical tweaks and new features.
Yamaha has taken the wraps of the new 2025 Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT. Both bikes now look sharper than before, gets the latest parallel-twin CP2 engine that debuted on the Yamaha MT-07, and features more tech to make those long-distance tours less taxing. Prices start from £8,804 (i.e. equivalent to ₹10 lakh, ex-showroom) for the Tracer 7, while the higher-specced Tracer 7 GT will set you back by £10,104 ((i.e. equivalent to ₹11.48 lakh, ex-showroom).
The new Euro5+ compliant, 689 cc, CP2, parallel-twin engine produces 76.43 bhp and 68 Nm. The same can be restricted to produce 46 bhp for an A2 license in Europe. While peak power has remained the same as before, torque has increased by 1 Nm from before. Feeding this engine is now a bigger 18-litre fuel tank on both the Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT. The engine continues to be paired to a 6-speed gearbox, but for 2025 Yamaha has lightened the clutch action by a claimed 22 per cent , by giving it a new assist-and-slip clutch.

Performance-wise, the Tracer 7 duos debuts rider-by-wire throttle which has allowed Yamaha to include cruise control, pre-set and customisable ride modes, and much more. The operations for all are controlled by the latest fully-digital 5-inch TFT display. The dash can be paired to your smartphone to further unlock turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, etc.
The engine continues to act as the stress member of the diamond frame chassis. However, for 2025, Yamaha claims that the frame has been revised for increased rigidity and the swingarm measures 40 mm longer than before. The chassis continues to be sprung by a 41 mm USD fork and a swingarm-mounted monoshock. With the new fuel tank and chassis revisions, the kerb weight of the Tracers have increased too. Wherein, the Tracer 7 weighs 6 kg heavier than before at 203 kg, while the Tracer 7 GT tips the scales at 212 kg.
We hope Yamaha brings the Tracer 7 sports tourer to India. Especially now, when the market has seen the launch of several middleweight tourers of its calibre. From the Honda NX500 to the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE, to the BMW F 900 XR and much more – the situation is ripe for the Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT.
