The 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 gets subtle upgrades for the new model year, including a revised colour scheme, TFT screen, and traction control.
India Kawasaki Motors has launched the 2026 Ninja 650 priced at Rs 7.91 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 retains the same bodywork and styling as its predecessor, and will continue to be available only in the ‘Lime Green’ paint scheme. Notably, the India-spec bike does not get the black and grey colours available on the international version.
The 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 gets subtle upgrades as part of the new model year. The sports tourer now comes with a 4.3-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity. It also gets LED lighting, traction control with two modes, and ABS for better safety. There are no mechanical changes to this full-faired motorcycle.
Speaking about the updated Ninja 650, Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director - India Kawasaki Motors, said, “The new MY26 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is built for riders who want thrilling performance without compromising practicality. With advanced technology, superior handling, and iconic Ninja styling, it delivers excitement on every ride. We invite riders to experience this motorcycle firsthand and truly Ride Bold."
He added, "Kawasaki is no stranger to the pursuit of performance, excitement, and all-out fun, and the MY26 Ninja 650 delivers on all counts. It is a well-balanced motorcycle, blending fun and easy handling with optimal engine and chassis performance, wrapped in the legendary sleek Ninja styling. The Ninja 650 features the beloved 649cc parallel-twin engine, perfect for daily commutes or spirited rides on winding back roads. Its lightweight chassis delivers smooth and agile handling that is sporty yet versatile, while the sharp styling ensures it turns heads on every ride. Riders enjoy a premium digital experience with the 4.3-inch all-digital TFT colour display, offering vibrant visibility and clear, easy-to-read information. Twin LED headlights with low/high beams and position lamps enhance both safety and style. We encourage every rider to get on the saddle, feel the thrill, and ride and enjoy the Ninja 650.”
Power comes from the tried-and-tested 649 cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650. The motor produces 67 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 6,700 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch. Suspension duties are performed by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, while braking performance comes from twin discs at the front and a single disc brake at the rear.
The Ninja 650 remains one of the most fuss-free options in the middleweight motorcycle segment, and one of the few bikes that can do it all, from track days to the weekday office commute. It offers a good balance between everyday usability and long-distance riding. The sporty ergonomics are committed yet comfortable, while the seat has been revised for a more comfortable ride for the rider and pillion. The Kawasaki Ninja 650 takes on the Honda CBR650R, Triumph Trident 660, Yamaha R7, Aprilia RS660, and more in global markets.
