Tata Sierra will mark a return to the Indian market after a gap of 28 years.
Tata Motors is gearing up for its next big launch — the Sierra — which is slated to break covers on 25 November 2025. The company had already showcased pre-production concepts of the SUV on a couple of occasions in the past, the most recent being the Auto Expo 2025. Now, the homegrown carmaker is ready with the final production-spec model of the reincarnated Sierra.
Tata Motors has released a fresh set of images of the new Sierra in order to build anticipation for the same as it nears its official debut. The latest set of images give a clear indication of what to expect visually from the new generation Sierra.
While the new Sierra retains a few design cues from the original Sierra of the 1990s, like the boxy profile with a flat roofline, it gets a very conventional five-door configuration as opposed to the three-door layout of the latter. Up front, the flat fascia is highlighted by an all-LED lighting setup that includes sleek headlamps connected by full-width lightbars. A chunky bumper with faux skid plate and squared wheel arches wrapped in thick claddings amplify the SUV stance of the Sierra.

The side profile is accentuated by dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels, tall pillars, flush-fitting door handles, and blacked-out ORVMs, and functional roof rails. At the rear, the connected LED setup is carried over with a slightly curved rear windshield. Other visual highlights include a flat tailgate and another faux silver skid plate on the rear bumper.
Previously, Tata Motors shared a glimpse of the new Sierra’s interiors featuring a large panoramic sunroof and the 'infinite window' setup that gives the SUV a more airy feel inside the cabin. The biggest highlight, however, is the triple-screen layout on the dashboard, a first for any Tata model. This comprises a fully-digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen infotainment display, and a dedicated co-passenger entertainment screen.

Other notable features likely to make it to the production-spec Sierra could be ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charger, JBL audio system, dual-zone climate control, and multi-colour ambient lighting. Safety will be ensured by features such as multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, TPMS, as well as a level-2 advanced driver assistance (ADAS) suite.
The new-gen Tata Sierra will be available in both combustion engine and fully electric derivatives, the former will go on sale first. Engine options include a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine from the Safari. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine puts out 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol mill is expected to churn out 168 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Transmission options will most likely include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
