ACKO Drive Awards 2026: Kia Carens Clavis EV Wins the 2026 MPV TOTM

There haven’t been too many new launches in the MPV segment in India of late, so the Kia Carens Clavis EV stands out. It’s a solid value offering, aimed at large families who need space for people as well as baggage. It looks slick and modern, but still utilitarian, and without screaming for attention. 

Kia has found a niche where there aren’t many competitors — this electric 7-seater stands out in its price segment. You get plenty of space along with all the necessary features and safety measures. The Carens Clavis EV represents a tradeoff that many will make, sacrificing a bit of mainstream SUV appeal for versatility.

The interior feels up-to-date too, with a combined 26.62-inch panoramic infotainment touchscreen and instrument cluster. The UI is crisp and easy to get around. Physical buttons for climate control set this model apart from its ICE sibling. The ride quality and handling are excellent, with suspension tuned for comfort and body roll well under control. 

You have two battery options, 42 kWh (404 km ARAI-certified range), and 51.4 kWh (490 km ARAI-certified range). Support for 100 kW DC fast charging means you can go from 10 to 80 percent in just under 40 minutes, which is fine for road trips. There’s also L2 ADAS, six airbags, stability control, 360-degree cameras, V2L (vehicle-to-load) power supply, and all the standard safety tech. 

The Carens Clavis EV car also won the 2026 EV Car TOTM for its all-round versatility and utility.
