ACKO Drive Awards 2026: VinFast Is Off to a Great Start in India With the 2026 Midsize SUV Win for the VF7

One of its two launch models in India, the VinFast VF7 is off to a strong start in the Indian market, with its shiny 2026 Midsize SUV TOTM. Notably, its only competition in this segment this year was the Tata Harrier EV, showing that electric SUVs are creating a strong presence in the Indian market. 

The VF7, along with its sibling the VF6, is manufactured at the company’s own facility in Tamil Nadu. Depending on the variant you choose, you’ll get either a single-motor or a dual-motor powertrain, and either a 59.6kWh or 70.8kWh battery. 

This is a relatively premium model and measures over 4.5m in length. The interior is relatively minimalist, and all variants feature a 12.9-inch central infotainment touchscreen plus a colour heads-up display, but no conventional instrument cluster. There’s also a dual-zone AC, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 90W USB Type-C port for charging, flush door handles, heated ORVMs with auto dimming and memory, and keyless entry. For safety, you get seven airbags, rain-sensing wipers, 360-degree surround view, tyre pressure monitoring, traction control, ABS, EBD, and ESC as standard. The higher trims get L2 ADAS features.
