TVS Orbiter Trademarked

TVS has trademarked the name "Orbiter", sparking speculation about a new product launch. Based on the company's recent teaser and existing scooter portfolio, Orbiter might be a sporty 110 cc scooter built on the Jupiter platform, filling a gap in TVS's lineup. The Jupiter is a successful family scooter, but TVS lacks a sporty 110cc option, unlike its 125cc segment with the NTorq 125 and Jupiter 125. The TVS Orbiter could offer sharp styling, a sportier engine tune, and a price point between the TVS NTorq (₹90,000) and Jupiter 110 (₹74,000-91,000), catering to the growing demand for frugal yet sporty scooters, currently led by the Hero Xoom 110. Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 Spotted Testing

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 has been spotted testing for the first time. The test mule has revealed details such as a new frame, adjustable suspension, and a 19-/17-inch spoke wheel setup. The bike will feature the same 650cc parallel-twin engine as other Royal Enfield models, but with a different state of tune to compensate for the added weight and different wheel sizes. The test mule shows a monoshock rear suspension, unlike the twin shocks on other 650cc models, and a more European ADV design inspired by bikes like the Africa Twin and BMW F 750 GS. The Himalayan 650 is expected to be a premium offering, priced around ₹4-4.25 lakh (ex-showroom), and may be announced at EICMA/Motoverse 2025, with a potential launch in 2026. Read more

Opinion - TVS Apache Needs A Makeover

It's been long overdue for the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V to receive a major overhaul, despite its continued sales success. While the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" may apply, the reality is that updates are necessary to stay relevant in a competitive market. The TVS RTR 200 4V has been a game-changer for TVS, but its eight-year run without significant changes has made it show its age. To remain a top contender, TVS needs to breathe new life into this model, addressing areas like design, engine performance, gearbox, brakes, and features. A refresh is necessary to keep pace with newer, more modern offerings from rival manufacturers and to continue appealing to enthusiasts seeking a cutting-edge riding experience. Read more
