Anuj Dua will be joining the largest Indian two-wheeler manufacturer as it gears up to expand into foreign shores.

Hero MotoCorp confirmed its European and UK ambitions last year in Milan at EICMA. The brand revealed quite a few new products there that would spearhead its sales and reach in those regions. To conduct this orchestra in these foreign shores will be Hero MotoCorp’s erstwhile employee, Anuj Dua, who has made a comeback as its Head-Global Product Planning. Dua brings with him almost nine years of tenure at Royal Enfield, where he was leading the brand’s Global Strategy, too, but in the Asia-Pacific region.

Before joining RE, Dua worked for a decade at Hero MotoCorp in various capacities, spanning global product planning to marketing and sales. He even worked as an assistant retail manager at Bajaj Auto for a while.

Dua is expected to streamline and further strengthen the brand's position as a reputational premium brand in Europe. As part of that agenda, Hero has developed quite a few bikes and scooters—the Xtreme 250R and the Vida Z, are the two prime examples. The Jaipur-based marque recently discontinued the Hero Mavrick 440 from the Indian market, but the brand did so because a new variant is in the making—you can learn about it all here -- and the same might launch in Europe too.

But the most anticipated middle-capacity bike from Hero MotoCorp is the XPulse 421 — the concept version of which broke cover last year in a 2D sketch. It looked quite the touring-oriented machine with a nice semi-fairing and sharp and angular designs. The bike looked big, and you can learn more about it here.

Aside from Europe, Hero MotoCorp is also planning to expand to Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In all these markets, it is planning to enter as a premium brand — this is where Anuj Dua will come into play. He was with the Chennai-based brand when it ventured into the American market with the 650 cc twin bikes, and this experience will also play a central role in Hero’s ambitions.
