The event will primarily centre around Mac-related announcements.

Apple's Scary Fast Event is scheduled for October 30th and will focus on new Mac products. The event will be an online stream rather than an in-person gathering, and it will begin at 5 PM Pacific Time. The Apple Logo on the events page on Apple.com indicates that the event will primarily centre around Mac-related announcements.

One of the main highlights of the event is expected to be the introduction of the new M3 chip, which will be featured in the iMac. The current iMac was released in 2021 and has not seen any updates since then, so this will be a significant update for the all-in-one PC. Rumours suggest that the M3 chip will be based on the A17 Pro processor that was showcased for the iPhone 15 Pro series. The chip is also anticipated to have RayTracing-enabled GPUs that support triple-A games. If this is the case, it will be the first 3nm chip for a PC or laptop.

There are also reports indicating that Apple will improve the GPUs and CPUs, and there may be upgrades to the entry-level MacBook Pro 13-inch model with an M3 chipset. Additionally, the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are expected to receive updates with Pro and Max versions of the M3 processors. While the M2 Max is already one of the most powerful PC class chipsets, Qualcomm recently introduced its Snapdragon Elite X chipset, based on the Oryon architecture, claiming to be faster and more power efficient than the M2 Max. Therefore, Apple may regain its lead in this area if it announces these new products.

It is worth noting that Apple recently launched the M2 Pro and M2 Max 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models in January, so the decision for such a fast update cycle is questionable. Famed analyst Ming Chi Quo in particular believes that this will happen. Apple may also unveil new iPad models, such as the iPad Air with an M2 chip, and update the iPad Mini.

The Scary Fast Event will be streamed on the Apple YouTube Channel, Apple.com, and the Apple TV app on various Apple devices.
