Apple has managed to steal the limelight with its announcement that the launch of the Apple Vision Pro will occur on February 2.
Apple, renowned for its strategy of not participating in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), has often found ingenious ways to divert attention from the world's largest tech trade expo. This year appears to be no different. With the global tech media's attention fixed on the glitz of the Las Vegas strip this January, Cupertino has managed to steal the limelight with its announcement that the launch of the Apple Vision Pro will occur on February 2. Additionally, it has shared some details about prescription lenses.
Preorders for the Apple Vision Pro will commence on January 19. Apple has stated that reading glasses from Zeiss will be available for an additional $99, while prescription lenses will cost $149. It has also revealed that the base variant will come with 256GB of storage. The package includes a solo knit band and a dual loop band, as well as a light seal and two light seal cushions. Additionally, there will be an Apple Vision Pro cover, a polishing cloth, a battery, and a USB Type C charging cable. Thankfully, a USB Type C power adaptor is also included.
Of course other specs of the device include dual mini LED displays with real time pass through for its 4K 3D resolution. It is powered by the M2 and R1 processors and comes with an assortment of sensors, cameras and LiDARs for its immersive experience. It is powered by VisionOS which supports iOS and iPad apps without the need of modification from the developers.
In preparation for the launch, Bloomberg reports that Apple has initiated an intensive training programme for its new product. Small groups of employees are being taken to Apple's headquarters for comprehensive briefings, each lasting an arduous three hours. These sessions, targeted at Apple Store representatives across the United States, are scheduled to take place on January 21st.
The report also sheds light on Apple's ambitious launch strategy for the Vision Pro. Following its debut in the United States, the tech giant plans to roll out the product in key international markets, including China, Canada, and the UK. In a move that signals the imminence of the launch, it has been revealed that units of the headset have already been shipped to Apple warehouses in the U.S.
