Kia India, since 2019, consistently exports 2 lakh units annually to over 95 countries for the third straight year.
Kia India has announced its overall sales numbers for the month of April 2023, as well as the January- April 2023 period. Reporting strong numbers, Kia India registered a 22 per cent growth in April 2023, selling 23,216 units in April 2023, as compared to the same period last year. During the Jan-April 2023 period, the company recorded a hike in sales by 24 per cent as compared to Jan- April 2022 period. Moreover, the company also announced that it has sold 7 lakh + cars since its inception in the country in 2019.
As far as individual models go, Kia Sonet emerged as the top contributor to overall sales with 9,744 units, while the Kia Seltos and the Kia Carens also performed well with 7,213 units and 6,107 units sold domestically respectively. Kia’s Seltos and the Sonet continue to report strong growth with 32,249 units and 37,518 from Jan-April 2023 contributing roughly 33 per cent and 38 per cent respectively to Kia’s domestic sales.
Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head, Sales & Marketing, Kia India said, "In less than four years, we have not only established ourselves as a leading premium automotive company but also emerged as a popular new-age brand. Our 7 lakh+ customers have entrusted us with a lot of faith, and we will continue to do our best to give them quality service and inspiring innovations.”
Moreover, the company also revealed that the most preferred choice of transmission with the Sonet and the Seltos is the iMT, contributing to 34 per cent of the April 2023 sales.
Brar added, “Our strategic business decision to establish leadership in iMT is working well with the iMT models contributing 34% to the overall April sales.”
Kia India also announced 2 lakh export units to more than 95 countries for the third consecutive year since it started its India operations in 2019. The next big news coming from the Kia stable is the arrival of the Seltos facelift, however, there is no confirmation from the brand as yet.
