Yes, we are finally riding the much-awaited Aprilia RS 457, the marque's first motorcycle that has been made in India at Piaggio's plant near Pune. Bookings have already commenced and deliveries will start soon, in all probability by the end of this month. Check out some of the detailed images of this bike.
The head-on rivals of the Aprilia RS 457 in its segment primarily include the likes of the Yamaha R3 and the KTM RC 390. The former is priced from ₹4.65 lakh, and the Austrian starts from ₹3.20 lakh (all ex-showroom price).
With looks that trickles down from the RS 660, there's no denying the fact that the Aprilia will the tug the right strings of your heart, and also give you that apt satisfaction of owning a big bike. Just look at her!
More than just being a pretty loooker, the fairing design of the Aprilia RS 457 is quite functional. Especially, with those winglets that will help with generating downforce at triple digit speeds and keep the front pinned.
The cast aluminium chassis is one major novel factor in the Aprilia RS 457, something none of its competitor gets. This should make the bike much more agile and stable, thereby inducing more confidence while taking those corners.
The fuel tank capacity is also on par with its competition, but it is slightly smaller. The KTM RC 390 gets a 13.7-litre tank, and the Yamaha R3 gets a 14-litre tank.
This new engine produces 47 bhp at 9400 and 43.5 Nm at 6700 rpm and it gets ride-by-wire throttle.
The instrument cluster is also a colour unit, and this is another major advantage that the Aprilia RS 457 enjoys over the Yamaha R3, which gets a monochrome digital TFT cluster.
Aside from three different ride modes, the Aprilia RS 457 also gets three-level of traction control, which can be adjusted from the handlebar. Other standard features available with the bike includes - LED headlight and tail light, and dual-channel ABS with anti roll-over system. The bike is available with three colour options - Black, White and Silver. We are riding the black option here, as you can see. As for its ride quality, stay tuned for we have some exciting information for you.
