Bookings for the Aprilia RS457 are currently open, and production has commenced at the Baramati manufacturing plant.
Aprilia launched the long-awaited RS457 at India Bike Week 2023. While the motorcycle was developed and designed in Italy, its manufacturing is now taking place at Piaggio's Baramati plant in India. Deliveries of the same are scheduled to commence in March 2024.
The Aprilia RS457 has a design similar to the RS 660, featuring sleek LED headlamps, Daytime Running Lamps, a full fairing, clip-ons, and rear set footpegs, characteristic of a sports bike. Adding to its appeal is the exclusivity it enjoys in the Indian market due to the limited presence of Aprilia motorcycles.
The motorcycle is powered by a 457 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, tuned to deliver 47 bhp and 46 Nm. The chassis comprises a twin-spar aluminium frame, with a upside down fork and a monoshock, both of which are preload adjustable. Braking duties are managed by disc brakes at both ends, with switchable dual-channel ABS also present. Other features include ride-by-wire, three levels of riding modes, three levels of traction control settings, all of which can be controlled by the left switch cube and displayed on a 5-inch TFT screen.
The Aprilia RS457 is set to rival the Kawasaki Ninja 400, KTM RC 390, and the Yamaha R3 in the market. Priced at ₹ 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom), it positions itself competitively by offering a more economical option compared to both the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and Yamaha R3 in the same price range.
