Ashok Leyland reported a 5% sales rise in August 2025, reaching 15,239 units, with 2% domestic growth.
Commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland has announced a positive sales performance for August 2025, driven by strong domestic and export demand.
Hinduja Group's company sold a total of 15,239 units, marking a 5% increase compared to the same period last year.
The domestic market remained a key growth driver, with sales reaching 13,622 units, a 2% rise year-on-year. This was propelled by a strong showing in the Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) segment, which grew by 3% overall to 7,991 units.
Within this category, the bus segment was the standout performer, surging by an impressive 11%. This strong performance indicates a revival in passenger transport and a positive economic outlook.
The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment also saw a 1% increase, selling 5,631 units, demonstrating consistent demand across different vehicle categories.
Ashok Leyland’s export business provided a significant boost to the company’s total sales. Exports of M&HCV buses soared by a remarkable 36%, highlighting the company’s growing presence and demand for its products in international markets.
This surge in exports, combined with the steady domestic performance, contributed to the overall 5% growth in total sales for the month.
The positive momentum is also reflected in the cumulative sales for the fiscal year, which grew by 3% to 74,541 units, underscoring Ashok Leyland's strong market position.
