Ather Energy, the Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer, has announced a significant price reduction for its popular Ather 450X model. The company has slashed the price of the scooter by up to Rs. 14,500, making it more affordable for customers. The new price for the Ather 450X now starts at Rs. 96,588 (ex-showroom, Ahmedabad). Additionally, the Ather 450X will also be available with an add-on Pro-Pack, bringing the price to Rs. 128.443 (ex-showroom) and offering a host of features and conveniences. These prices are inclusive of a home charger.

The price reduction comes as a result of various cost optimisation measures undertaken by the company, including better supply chain management, localization of components, and a reduction in operational expenses. The move is aimed at making the Ather 450X more accessible to a wider audience and accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in India.
The Ather 450X is one of the most popular electric scooters in India, known for its performance, technology, and design. It comes with a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides a range of up to 85 km on a single charge. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 80 kmph. It also features a 7-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and a host of smart features.

The Ather 450X is available in two variants – the Plus and the Pro. The Plus variant comes with a lower top speed and a shorter range, while the Pro variant offers higher performance and a longer range. Both variants are eligible for a FAME II subsidy of up to Rs. 25,000, which brings down the effective price of the scooter even further.
The Ather 450X with the Pro-Pack comes with features such as Google Maps, access to the Ather Grid fast charging network, Bluetooth connectivity, Ather Connect Pro features, and enhanced vehicle experience features like Auto Hold, Reverse Assist, and much more.
With the price reduction, the Ather 450X is now more affordable than its main competitors, including the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube. It is also more affordable than many petrol-powered scooters in the premium segment.
