The Ather Rizta and the 450 Series will now be available with Battery As A Service (BaaS) subscription plans. This allows the customer to just pay for the scooter’s chassis and body initially, while the battery can be availed separately on a subscription basis. With Ather’s newly introduced BaaS, the Rizta’s entry price is now set at ₹75,999 (ex-showroom) for the Rizta S, which was earlier priced at ₹1,04,99 (ex-showroom) before. The 450 Series with the entry-level 450S is priced at ₹84,341 (ex-showroom), compared to ₹1,19,841 (ex-showroom) as before.
The BaaS service begins at ₹1 per kilometre, calculated on a 48-month package with a minimum monthly distance requirement of 1,000 km. For the first year, customers will also receive complimentary fast charging access to Ather's network of 3,300 public charging stations.

The company has also extended its Assured Buyback scheme, now guaranteeing up to 60 per cent of the scooter's original value after three years and up to 50 per cent following four years, subject to mileage conditions. Ather has additionally launched an Extended Comprehensive Warranty programme covering the battery pack and eleven critical components - such as the motor, motor controller, dashboard, and charging equipment - for up to five years or 60,000km. This coverage is available to all AtherStack Pro subscribers and provides enhanced assurance for long-term ownership.

Overall, the Battery as a Service approach should facilitate greater electric vehicle adoption amongst consumers. However, potential buyers need to carefully calculate their expected monthly mileage to ensure the pricing structure remains economical.
