In order to make its family electric scooter more familiar and intuitive to engage with, Ather Energy has rolled out a multi-language dashboard interface. It will support eight Indian regional languages – Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The rollout will start with ‘Hindi’, with the rest of the regional languages to follow soon. The multi-language dashboard will be available to existing Ather Rizta owners via Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates to the AtherStack software engine. Meanwhile, new Ather Rizta customers in the future will get the feature integrated from the showroom floors, right away.
The reason Ather decided to roll out this feature is because it found out that 98 per cent of internet users in the country access content in Indian language. Indian customers feel more comfortable and familiar when the digital content is in their respective regional language. “Our aim has always been to deliver quality user experiences that make our scooters more engaging. Given India’s rich diversity, and the pride that people take in their regional languages, our intent was to make our scooters more user friendly,” clarified Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited,
Yes, even we are curious as to why Ather has not rolled out this new feature with the 450X scooters as well. However, we expect that to happen soon, for even the 450X runs AtherStack on its dashboard too. Coupled with the fact that Ather just launched the revised 450X for 2025 with new features, maybe the marque is going to take things slow. Either way, we are confident that it should happen sooner, if not later. To know more about the updates that Ather introduced with the 2025 450X, check out our review video below:
