Audi will launch the Q8 e-tron in the second half of 2023.
Audi India has been extremely open about its India plans, but when it comes to products, that’s a different story. The company will be bringing new products to the Indian market, and yes, there is a new electric car coming: the Q8 e-tron. In an exclusive chat with Acko Drive’s Editor-In-Chief, Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, Audi India’s Head, Balbir Singh Dhillon, said, “We will be launching a new electric car in the second half of this year. It will be the Q8 e-tron. There are more variants too that will be launched, but this will be the new model that will be introduced in India”.
While Audi India has a strong EV portfolio, its competitors, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, have expanded in various segments. Does Audi have any plans to bring in EVs at different price points?
Balbir said, “Since the supply issue has been resolved to a certain extent, we are able to get a sufficient number of cars from headquarters. There is still some distance to be covered, though, because most of the models that we are currently selling are upwards of Rs. 1 crore. And we certainly need to address some other segments as well. I think volumes will also grow when we start to address some other segments. As more models are planned by Audi globally, we will see some of these make their way to the Indian market as well.”
The Q8 e-tron then is all set to grace the Indian shores in the second half of this year, and we can’t wait to get our hands on the car!
