BMW India and MINI India, cumulatively sold 5867 units during the January–June 2023 period.
BMW India has shared its sales figures for the H1, 2023 (Jan.–June) period, recording its highest-ever numbers in the country. BMW India and MINI India cumulatively sold 5867 units during the January–June 2023 period, registering a 5.33 per cent growth as compared to 5,570 units sold during the same period last year. During the January–June 2023 period, BMW India sold 5476 units while MINI India sold 391 units, an increase from 5,191 units and 379 units sold, respectively, during the January–June 2022 period. Moreover, the company consistently improved its monthly sales, with 32 per cent growth during May–June 2023, as compared to the same period last year.

Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, “BMW Group India is redefining luxury with class-leading comfort, performance, and aesthetics. The landmark of achieving the highest-ever half-year, quarter, and June sales is a culmination of the company's strategic steps.”
According to the company, its SUVs contributed to over 50 per cent of sales as the recently launched BMW X1 recorded the highest-ever bookings since its launch. As the highest-selling BMW model, it contributed over 20 per cent to sales. The same is expected from the newly launched BMW X5, the second most popular SUV from the company’s stable here in India. Even the BWM 3 Series Gran Limousine was the best-selling sedan in the company’s portfolio, contributing to nearly 20 per cent of the total sales.
As far as the sales of the MINI brand go, the MINI Countryman dominated the sales with a 63 per cent share while the MINI Cooper contributes about 20 per cent in the overall sales. The MINI Cooper SE, its electric sibling, registered 14 per cent of the overall sales. On the other hand, the company’s motorcycle division, BMW Motorrad India registered a 49.87 per cent growth during the H1, 2023 period, selling 4667 units as compared to 3114 units sold in the same period last year.

Compared to its rivals in the premium segment, Mercedes-Benz India reported its highest-ever H1 sales retailing 8,528 units during the January-June 2023 period, a growth rate of 12.64 per cent compared to the 7,573 units sold in the same period in 2022. Audi India, on the other hand, sold 3,474 units in the period January–June 2023, registering a growth of 97 per cent compared to 1,765 units sold in the same period last year.
