While exports continue to drive in the maximum business growth, domestic sales continue to drop for Bajaj Auto.
Bajaj Auto reported that its cumulative business grew by a mere 1 per cent on a year-on-year basis by retailing 3,60,806 units in June 2025, compared to the 3,58,477 units it did in the same period last year. In the domestic market, the brand’s two-wheeler sales have dropped by a worrying 16 per cent on a year-on-year basis, and to make matters worse, on a month-on-month basis it further dropped by 21.99 per cent. However, the brand’s export business continues to post steady growth as it further grew by 18 per cent (year-on-year basis) in June with 1,49,167 units exported, compared to the 1,26,439 units it did in the same month, last year.
Despite this minute drop in sales, Bajaj continues to sell healthy figures and so far in FY 26, the Pune-based bikemaker has already sold 5,29,344 two-wheelers in the country. This might be 9 per cent less compared to 5,82,497 units it retailed in the same period last year, but with more than 5 lakh bikes and electric scooters sold, the brand continues to maintain a steady business.
At the same time, its export business has further grown by 14 per cent in FY 26, so far, which was 2 per cent more than the 12 per cent year-to-date growth the brand posted in May 2025. The brand expects its export business will grow further in the coming months, wherein it might even touch 1,60,000-1,70,000 units per month.
While domestic performance has been dropping for Bajaj, the brand continues to upgrade its portfolio. It has been leading the EV charge in the country and the launch of the new affordable Bajaj Chetak 3001 is further expected to push this momentum. Coupled with that, the brand also has an updated Pulsar NS400Z slated for official launch this month. While the 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z had already arrived in a select few showrooms earlier, stay tuned to this space for we’ll be riding the updated bike soon and will let you know in detail how the updates affect the bike.
