The June 2025 total marks a sharp drop from 9,776 units in June 2024, which included 4,804 domestic and 4,972 export units.
Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) reported total sales of 5,124 units in June 2025, including 4,618 units sold in the domestic market and 506 units exported. The figures reflect a decline compared to the same period last year, when the company sold 4,804 units domestically and exported 4,972 units, bringing the June 2024 total to 9,776 units.

The year-on-year drop in total volume for June is significant, with domestic sales down by nearly 4% and exports falling sharply by almost 90%. While HCIL did not release a detailed model-wise breakdown, the overall decline is consistent with the company’s stated strategy of maintaining a conservative market approach amidst what it describes as cautious consumer sentiment.

Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “Given the ongoing market conditions and cautious consumer sentiment, we continued to strategically moderate our dispatches this month to maintain optimal inventory levels across our network. We remain optimistic about a gradual improvement in demand in the coming months, supported by encouraging monsoon and the upcoming festive period.”

Month-on-month, the company’s June 2025 performance marked a decrease from May 2025, when it reported total sales of 5,985 units. That figure included 3,950 domestic units and 2,035 units exported. This indicates a sequential growth in domestic sales of 17%, though exports in June dropped significantly from May’s level.
The fluctuation in export numbers over the last two months suggests shifting priorities in shipment strategy or possible constraints in export markets. While the company has not commented directly on this variation, the data points to a continued realignment of supply with demand.
Honda’s current portfolio in India includes sedans like the Amaze and City, and the Elevate SUV. However, unlike many other manufacturers that have expanded aggressively in the SUV space, Honda’s volumes continue to reflect its more limited product range, especially in a market where SUV demand remains dominant.
