Even on a month-on-month basis, Honda’s sales have dropped by 7.73%.
Honda registered a whopping year-on-year sales drop of 17% in June 2025 by selling 4,29,147 bikes and scooters cumulatively, as against the 5,18,799 units it sold in the same month last year. Out of last month’s cumulative total, 3,88,812 units were retailed in the domestic market, while the rest were exported. While this helps position the brand as the second highest selling two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, just after Hero MotoCorp, but even on a month-on-month basis, Honda’s sales have dropped by 7.73% further, as against the 4,65,115 units it retailed in May 2025. TVS Motor followed Honda in third position with retail of 3,85,698 units.
With the first quarter of FY 26 coming to a close, Honda has so far sold 13,75,120 units between April to June 2025. Out of which, domestic retail accounted for 12,28,961 , while 1,46,159 units were exported. The majority of the sales continue to come from Honda Activa, which was the most sold scooter in May 2025. However, of late, Honda’s brand strategy has focused towards expanding its premium Big Wing portfolio. In June 2025, Honda launched the 2025 XL750 Transalp, which is the latest big bike to join the likes of the X-ADV, Rebel 500, NX, CBR 650R, CB 650R, CB6750 Hornet, etc.
While these newly launched bikes are not expected to rake in as many sales as Honda rakes in with its commuter two-wheeler portfolio. It remains to be seen how popular these models make Honda in India. The brand also added a new Battery As A Service plan in addition to the other two existing plans with the Honda Activa e:. The new BaaS Lite plan is a more affordable option, compared to the other two options; however, from an ownership cost point of view, it's still an expensive option. Head to the link here to find out how much it will cost you to own the Activa e: if you avail it with the BaaS Lite plan.
