Electric two-wheelers are clearly becoming the talk of the town. Legacy manufacturers like Bajaj and TVS are raking in quite healthy sales with its all-electric offerings, with sales almost doubling for many. Here are the highest-selling electric scooters in the country as per the latest report by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturer (SIAM).

TVS iQube – 27,642 Units

2025 TVS iQube

Two months into FY 26 and TVS Motor Company has already sold 55,246 iQube electric scooters in the country. Out of which, 27,642 units were sold in May itself. If we compare it with the sales of the TVS Ntorq 125, which stood at 25,205 units last month, the iQube outsold the sporty 125 cc scooter by 9.67 per cent.

On a year-on-year basis, the iQube’s sales have increased by 31.64 per cent which further reflects a growing shift in preference for the brand’s all-electric scooter. Due to which, TVS also had to ramp up production, which increased by 55.91 per cent last month, from 17,642 units in May 2024, to 27,506 last month. So electric scooters are clearly working very well for TVS Motor Company at the moment.

Bajaj Chetak – 25,540 Units

While Bajaj did finish FY25 on a high note, with a new year comes a new lot, and so far Bajaj has sold 44,756 new Chetaks this financial year (FY26). With 25,540 units coming up just last month, the Chetak registered a whopping 95.83 per cent year-on-year sales growth. Bajaj continues to widen the spectrum of its all-electric offering with new variants. It was already available in four variants, to which the brand added a new mid-spec variant called 3001. It gets a slightly bigger battery than the 2903 variant at 3 kWh, which gives it that little bit of extra range by 4 km at 127 km (claimed). For more details head to this link to find out

Ather – 15,982 Units

The third largest electric scooter manufacturer at the moment, as per SIAM, is Ather Energy. The Bengaluru-based startup, which recently went public, sold 16,103 new electric scooters in the country last month. Of which 11,534 units were of the Rizta. The family electric scooter commanded 58 per cent of the brand’s overall sales in FY25 itself, and it also crossed the 1 lakh sales mark in just under one year of production. And with almost 50,000 units (44,756 units to be exact) sold already in the first two months of FY26, the Ather Rizta continues to maintain a healthy sales momentum.

Vida – 8,361 Units

Hero Vida V1 Pro

As Hero’s all-electric sub-brand, Vida gears up to launch its second electric scooter next month, the V2 continues to lead the sales charge for the brand steadily. In May 2025, Vida might have sold 8,361 V2s, but on the company’s sheet it represents a humongous 129.7 per cent year-on-year increase in sales. Production of the V2 has also jumped by 100 per cent in FY26, wherein Hero has already manufactured 14,859 electric scooters this financial year. With a new electric scooter on the horizon, the brand is slated to register more growth in the coming future, hoping to catch up with fellow legacy manufacturers TVS and Bajaj.

Honda – 1,516 (Year-to-Date basis)

Honda Activa e Review (7).jpg

In April and May, Honda has already retailed 1,516 electric scooters. Of which, 1,484 units were QC1s, and only 32 Activa e: have sold so far. While Honda has taken the conservative route with the Activa e: by selling it in a select few cities. At the same time it is also simultaneously developing its own battery swap network.

The QC1 is on sale across India, which explains its high sales numbers. With Suzuki yet to enter the scene, and Ultraviolette readying itself to launch the world’s first ADAS-equipped electric scooter, the Tesseract – the journey for Honda to the top will not be easy in the coming months.

The SIAM report does not take into account sales of the Ola Electric, though. As per the Vahan portal, Ola registered sales of 18,499 units, which makes it the third largest electric scooter manufacturer in May 2025. Ather and Hero MotoCorp rounded up the top 5 electric scooter manufacturer’s list.
