Auto Sales October 2023: Tata Motors Total Sales Up By 5.89 Per Cent

Domestic sales in October 2023 reached 80,825 units.

Tata Motors reported a 5.89 per cent rise in total sales to 82,954 units in October 2023, up from 78,335 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales reached 80,825 units, a 6 per cent growth from 76,537 units in October 2022.

Tata Motors recorded a 7 per cent year-on-year growth in the Passenger Vehicles (PV) domestic sales, including Electric Vehicles (EV), which reached 48,337 units, up from 45,217 units in October 2022.

The Passenger Vehicle Intermediary Bus (IB) segment saw a significant 46 per cent growth, totalling 300 units. The overall passenger vehicles category, which includes EVs, also exhibited a 7 per cent growth, with 48,637 units sold in October 2023.

Tata Motors also saw a significant growth in overall electric passenger vehicle sales, with 5,465 units sold, marking a 28 per cent increase from the 4,277 units sold in the same month a year ago.

Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) trucks saw a 10 per cent increase, while Intermediate and Light Commercial Vehicles (ILMCV) trucks experienced a substantial 14 per cent growth. Passenger Carriers had the most significant growth, with a remarkable 43 per cent increase. However, Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) cargo and pickup sales decreased by 8 per cent.

In the Commercial Vehicle (CV) sector, both domestic and IB segments displayed growth, contributing to a 4 per cent overall increase in total CV sales, which reached 34,317 units from 32,912 units in October 2022.
