Mahindra's October sales of 71,624 SUV units represent the company's highest monthly SUV sales ever recorded. This compares with September 2025 sales of 56,233 domestic UV units and August 2025 sales of 39,399 units.

Mahindra & Mahindra reported total automobile sales of 120,142 units in October 2025, marking growth of 26% on a year-on-year basis including exports. The company's Utility Vehicles segment sold 71,624 units in the domestic market, showing growth of 31% compared to October 2024.

The October performance marks the first full month of operation following the GST rate reduction that came into effect on September 22, 2025. Under the revised structure, small passenger vehicles with engine capacities up to 1200 cc for petrol vehicles and 1500 cc for diesel vehicles now attract a GST rate of 18%, reduced from the previous 28% plus cess. Larger vehicles and SUVs attract a 40% rate. The rate cut has resulted in price reductions ranging between 50,000 and 160,000 rupees across various vehicle categories.

The month-on-month progression shows a consistent growth trajectory as the GST benefits moved through the distribution channels.

The company's commercial vehicle sales stood at 31,741 units, marking growth of 14% compared to the same month in 2024. Three-wheeler sales, including electric variants, reached 12,762 units with growth of 30%.

GST reduction has stimulated demand across both urban and rural markets. Mahindra's product portfolio, which includes models such as the Scorpio, Bolero, Thar and XUV series, serves both segments. The Bolero range, targeting rural customers, and models like the XUV700 and Scorpio-N, which cater to urban markets, have both benefited from the tax reduction.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra's Automotive Division, stated that the October result reflects the impact of GST reforms coming into effect and increased consumer demand. October also marked the launch of new editions of Thar, Bolero and Bolero Neo. The company recorded total exports of 4,015 units during the month, showing growth of 15%.
