However, EV sales have dropped by 8.05 per cent year-on-year and 22.15 per cent month-on-month basis.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association has revealed that a total of 76,086 units of electric two-wheelers were sold in February 2025. Bajaj continues to lead this race yet again, and for the second consecutive month this year by retailing 21,389 units of its Chetak electric scooter. However`, this marks a minor 0.37 per cent increase in sales compared to the 21,310 units it retailed in January 2025. On a year-on-year basis, it’s a whopping 81.82 per cent increase in sales against the 11,764 units it retailed in February 2024.

Ola Electric registered the most losses of the big four electric two-wheeler manufacturers. Last month, the Bengaluru-based EV company retailed just 8,647 units of S1 scooters. The company has been plagued by a myriad of controversies throughout 2024, so a decline in sales is not completely surprising. Ola’s sales declined by 64.47 per cent month-on-month and 29.80 per cent year-on-year.

On the other hand, Greaves Electric Mobility Pvt. Ltd, which retails electric scooters under the brand name Ampere, continues to maintain its lead over traditional heavyweight Hero MotoCorp. Last month, the former sold 3,700 electric scooters, 38.16 percent more than the 2,678 units that Hero MotoCorp sold via its Vida brand.
