From a brand-new design to a brand-new engine, a lot is going on with the Bajaj Pulsar N125.
It’s no surprise that Bajaj is gearing up to launch a brand new 125 cc bike, and that the upcoming model will be called the Pulsar N125 is also more or less confirmed. We had recently spotted a test mule of the same in full camouflage, and now images of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar N125 undisguised have surfaced online.
But before we begin with the major highlights of the Bajaj Pulsar N125, in terms of design, it should be noted here that this will be the entry-level N-series Pulsar. It will slot alongside the Bajaj Pulsar 125 and the Pulsar NS125. Being an N-series Pulsar, it will share its design with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar N150, N160, and so on.
The headlight design looks sharp. We’re presuming here that just like the other N-series Pulsars, the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar N125 will also boast of an LED headlight, further flanked by Z-shaped DRLs. The tank size is expected to be somewhere between 11-12 litres, and sharp shrouds will characterise the tank design. The 3D “Bajaj” logo will act as the midas touch.
Other noticeable design elements will include an underbelly exhaust, split seat design, and a short tail section complemented by robust grab rails. While we can’t gauge the bike's colour here, teaser images released by Bajaj Auto show that it will get a unique purple colour option—which should give it a more energetic appearance compared to the subdued colours of existing Pulsar models.
The Bajaj Pulsar N125 will be powered by a new 125 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. While the specifications of this engine are still unknown to us, we expect it will be around the same ballpark figures as its competition, which includes the TVS Raider 125 and Hero Xtreme 125R. So, somewhere between 11.6 bhp and 11 Nm is our expectation.
The new 125 cc Pulsar is expected to be priced around ₹95,000 (ex-showroom). For reference, the current Pulsar 125 starts at ₹92,883, while the Pulsar NS125 is priced from ₹1,01,050 (all ex-showroom prices). Given the ongoing festive season, Bajaj Auto is likely to provide some introductory promotional offers and pitch the upcoming Pulsar N125 at an affordable price.
