This first-of-its-kind CNG bike from Bajaj has been spotted several times and might be called Bruzer 125.
It was already confirmed that Bajaj will launch the world’s first CNG motorcycle this year. And now the bossman himself, Rajiv Bajaj has gone ahead and revealed the launch month of the same in June. He announced it at the brand’s ‘Bajaj Beyond’ CSR announcement program, where the two-wheeler manufacturer committed ₹5000 crore for corporate social responsibilities. This comes as a surprise as previously the timeline was around the festive season this year.
Touted to be called the Bruzer 125, reports claim that Bajaj would launch the bike under a different brand. It will target mileage-conscious buyers which include consumers of 100-125 cc motorcycles, therefore, we can expect Bajaj can very well price the CNG bike between ₹80,000 -₹90,000.

Test mules of Bajaj’s CNG bike have already been spotted several times before. We have discussed in detail the new technologies the Bruzer 125 will debut. The addition of a CNG tank will of course affect the bike’s kerb weight and it might be heavy. As for its performance, it won’t have the most exciting of engines as is the case with all CNG four-wheelers. Visually, it will look like a typical commuter bike, but it does ride on spoke wheels which is also an indication that it will be equipped with tubeless tyres. Interestingly, patent images of Bajaj’s CNG bike revealed that the bike didn't have a petrol tank as such. So, the typical tank area will be fitted with stuff like an air filter, battery, etc. However, there is a reservoir, which means people can use the petrol to reach the nearest CNG filling station as an emergency resort.

While Bajaj will aim for rural and urban markets with its upcoming CNG bike. However, given its mileage prowess, it can very well cater to last-mile delivery services as well. Given the rising fuel costs, the CNG bike with its frugality (might clock 70-90 km/kg of CNG) and the relatively lower cost of CNG, the upcoming Bajaj bike could be a boon for commuter bike buyers. Whether the CNG bike can revolutionise the Indian two-wheeler space in a similar manner as the Hero Splendor managed around 25 years ago is something only time will answer. But, the Bajaj CNG bike looks very promising.
