Bentley was earlier sold in India as private imports by Exclusive Motors, based in New Delhi.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) has announced that it has now brought Bentley to its list of Volkswagen Group brands it sells in India. This is the sixth brand that SAVWIPL offers in India.
Called Bentley India, SAVWIPL will now import, distribute and sell Bentley vehicles in India and the group will oversee the brand’s strategy and retail network in the country. With this, Bentley India will open three new dealerships in India, with the first two coming in Mumbai and Bengaluru and the third opening in New Delhi. Bentley India will sell the Continental GT, Bentayga and Flying Spur. It hasn’t commented on the official pricing for the three models yet but will be announced at a later date. Bentley India’s operations will be spearheaded by Abbey Thomas, who has also been appointed as the Brand Director.
This isn’t the first time Bentley has entered India. It used to retain in India through private imports by Exclusive Motors but this is the first time the British luxury brand has entered in India. As mentioned, this is the sixth Volkswagen Group brand in India with the other five being Skoda Auto, Volkswagen, Audi, Lamborghini and Porsche.
