With a combined output of 771 bhp and a system torque of 1,000 Nm, the Flying Spur is the most powerful Bentley sedan ever produced.

Bentley Motors has unveiled the fourth-generation Flying Spur, positioning it as its first four-door supercar. After nearly two decades of defining luxury performance sedans, Bentley’s latest Flying Spur integrates an array of innovations while maintaining its hallmark elegance and performance. Bentley's decision to introduce the new Flying Spur initially with the performance-focused Speed model underlines its intent to marry luxury with a powerful driving experience.

The most notable update in the new Flying Spur is its Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain. It pairs a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 592 bhp with an electric motor that contributes an additional 187 bhp. This results in a combined output of 771 bhp and a system torque of 1,000 Nm, making the Flying Spur the most powerful Bentley sedan ever produced. Bentley Flying Spur cabin.jpg

The electric motor’s instant torque complements the V8’s signature cross-plane beat, delivering acceleration from 0-100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds, half a second quicker than the outgoing model. In pure EV mode, the Flying Spur can travel up to 76 km on electric power alone and reach speeds of up to 140 kmph. By offering an 829 km total range and the ability to charge the battery in as little as 2.75 hours, Bentley has positioned the Flying Spur as a viable option for long-distance travel and urban commuting alike.

The vehicle’s versatility extends to its energy management system, which can switch between pure EV mode, electric boost, regenerative braking, and a unique charge mode. In this charge mode, the engine can power both the wheels and charge the battery simultaneously, offering flexibility for various driving conditions.Bentley Flying Spur seats.jpg

The Flying Spur’s new Performance Active Chassis integrates Bentley Dynamic Ride and All-Wheel Steering to improve handling and comfort. The system includes an electronically controlled Limited Slip Differential, new-generation ESC control software, and active torque vectoring. These features enhance traction and allow the driver to access a range of driving styles, tailored to the Flying Spur’s optimised weight distribution of 48.3:51.7.

Bentley has further refined ride quality with advanced twin-valve dampers that enable separate control of rebound and compression damping. This results in a clear distinction between Comfort, Bentley, and Sport modes, ensuring a tailored ride experience for all preferences. Comfort mode, in particular, sees significant improvements, while maintaining the dynamic control of the previous generation’s Sport mode.Bentley Flying Spur front.jpg

While the new Flying Spur retains much of the exterior design language of its predecessor, key updates include a dark-tinted finish on the exterior’s brightware, a Speed-specific grille, and a new front bumper. The rear diffuser is also redesigned to emphasise the car's sporty character. New 22” Ten Swept Spoke wheels, available in various finishes, contribute to the Flying Spur’s expressive stance. Bentley’s “light sculpture” technology, first seen on the Batur coupe, makes its way into the Flying Spur, with animated LED Welcome Lamps projecting the Bentley Wings logo onto the ground.

Inside, the Flying Spur continues to uphold Bentley’s reputation for luxury. New stitch options, 3D diamond hide on doors and pillars, and an enhanced ionisation air system add to the cabin’s comfort. For personalisation, Bentley offers a staggering range of configurations: 22 primary hide colours, 11 secondary shades, and a choice of over 700 leather combinations. Buyers can select from eight wood veneer options and three technical finishes to craft a bespoke interior.Bentley Flying Spur chassis.jpg

Bentley has equipped the Flying Spur with the latest electrical architecture to offer a comprehensive suite of infotainment, driver assistance, and wellness technologies. The Wellness Seating Specification, now available for all four seats, includes Auto Climate and Postural Adjust, enhancing occupant comfort and reducing fatigue on longer journeys. The air conditioning system, updated with air ionisers and particulate matter filters, synchronises with the car’s satellite navigation to improve cabin air quality in varying conditions.
