The BMW 220i M Performance Edition will be sold in limited units and is only available in Black Sapphire metallic paint job.
BMW has launched the 220i M Performance Edition for a price of Rs. 46 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW India opened bookings for the 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition on August 24, 2023, for Rs. 1.50 lakh. The 2 Series M Performance Edition is available exclusively in a Black Sapphire metallic paint job. Furthermore, the BMW 220i M Performance Edition will be sold in limited units and deliveries will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis. This edition of the 2 Series gets contrasting gray paint on the front grille and wing mirrors, along with other feature editions specific to the M Performance Edition.
Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, said, “The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition is much more than a conventional sports coupé. The BMW M Performance parts bring the excitement and flavour of M to the streets and offer owners an opportunity to express their passion for dynamism and individuality. This limited edition elevates the characteristics of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe to the next level. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition offers an irresistible driving force, inviting you to step out, stand out and do things your own way - in more ways than one.”
The 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 177 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. BMW claims a 0 to 100 kmph time of 7.1 seconds. It too, like the petrol engine on the 220i M Sport and 220i M Sport Pro, is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Visually, the 220i M Performance Edition sports the M Performance Front Grill, and M Performance Alcantara Gear Selector Lever, along with other BMW ‘M’ Performance parts. Given the pricing, this limited-edition variant of the 2 Series is Rs. 50,000 more expensive than the 220i M Sport Pro variant, and Rs 2.5 lakh dearer than the 220i M Sport trim.
