The BMW CE 04 has undergone its first major revision since its debut in 2021. While its futuristic body design remains intact, BMW has instead chosen to give the electric scooters more comfort-oriented and practical features. Moreover, the Bavarian manufacturer has further segregated the CE 04 into three distinct trim levels: Basic, Avantgarde, and Exclusive.
The CE 04 Basic trim is the same as the outgoing model, wherein it will be available in the Lightwhite shade as standard. There has been no addition to its standard feature list; however, it does get the benefit of options like a centre stand, anti-theft alarm, e-call, heated grips, quick charger, larger windshield, hand protectors, tyre pressure monitoring system, etc. BMW is also offering the Dynamic Package, which gets you adaptive headlights, DRLs, ABS Pro, and dynamic riding modes, as an option here as well.
The mid-spec Avantgarde variant debuts a new Gravity Blue metallic matt shade with contrasting Sao Paulo yellow stripes in between. The equipment list is the same as the Basic variant; however, the rear wheel here gets a laser-engraved rim. The black/light grey seats get yellow and white tapes, and the windshield is finished in yellow.
The top-spec Exclusive variant debuts with a new shade too, called Space Silver metallic which BMW claims makes the CE 04 look more elegant. Adding to its exclusive stature are standard features like heated grips and seats, and the latter also gets a new upholstery fabric. Lastly, the bigger windshield, which is otherwise available as an option in the other two trims, is available as standard here. Beyond that the rest of the options list remains the same.
Mechanically, the BMW CE 04 continues to be powered by the same 8.9 kWh battery that is good for a claimed range of 130 km on a single charge. It continues to be paired to a 42 bhp electric motor which is rated for a top speed of 120 kmph and can help accelerate from 0-50 kmph in just 2.6 seconds. The lithium-ion battery is available with the choice of either a regular socket or a wallbox charger which takes 4 hours and 20 minutes to charge the cell completely. If charged using BMW’s 6.9 kW fast charger the time reduces to 1 hour and 40 minutes, and just 45 minutes to charge from 20-80%.
The controls for all the features can be carried out from the 10.25-inch TFT console as before, which already had all the bells and whistles of connectivity features. The same continues on this iteration as well.
BMW Motorrad has not introduced the latest iteration of the CE 04 in India as of yet. It is expected to launch here later by the end of this year. The current iteration already costs an eye-watering ₹14.90 lakh. Given the slew of changes are not that expansive here, we expect the 2025 CE 04 to continue with a slightly more premium price tag over the outgoing model, if not less.
