BMW India Records Best-Ever Annual Sales, Retails 18,001 Units In CY2025

BMW Group India had a record-breaking 2025 with the automaker posting its highest-ever annual sales. The company sold 18,001 cars in the last calendar year, registering a 14 per cent year-on-year growth. BMW delivered 17,271 units, while MINI sold 730 units during this period. Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler arm, sold 5,841 motorcycles last year. The GST revision further boosted growth in the last quarter. The company registered its best-ever quarterly sales with 6,023 units delivered between October and December 2025, a 17 per cent annual growth rate.

Double-Digit Growth Backed New Model Launches

BMW’s double-digit growth has been propelled by consistent product updates, and a strong focus on India-centric models. The luxury automaker introduced offerings such as the iX1 Long Wheelbase, new-generation X3, 2 Series Gran Coupe, MINI JCW Countryman All4, and MINI Convertible last year. The flagship BMW R 1300 GS adventure tourer and S 1000 RR superbike also arrived in India last year.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India said, “2025 has been a recordbreaking year for BMW Group India with highest-ever sales till date. We crossed the 18,000 units mark in car sales and the fact that we are growing very strongly at +14%, above average growth rate of luxury segment, reflects the strong aspiration and trust that our valued
customers have in our brands. Sales are growing across segments, whether it is internal
combustion engines or electric vehicles, SAVs or sedan or long wheelbase models. Our lead in
luxury electric segment is not only progressing sustainable mobility but also unlocking the
potential for increasing the size of luxury car market in India. Going forward, we will keep our
focus on what differentiates us – sheer driving pleasure, unparalleled customer centricity and a
robust dealer network which delivers joy at each step of interaction with our customers.”

200% Growth In EV Sales

BMW registered an impressive 200 per cent growth year-on-year with respect to electric vehicle sales. The company delivered 3,753 BMW and MINI EVs last year, and the automaker said the demand for EVs is set grow further post GST 2.0. The BMW iX1 was the highest-selling EV, not just for the brand but also in the luxury EV segment. The long wheelbase model specific to the Indian market arrived at the right price point and features, offering excellent value to customers. Meanwhile, the i7 sedan was the leader in its class competing against the Mercedes-Benz EQS.

BMW expanded its electric charging infrastructure in 2025 with destination charging, smart e-routing, charging concierge, high performance electric corridor, and more such initiatives. Customers also got access to over 6,000 charging points at dealer touchpoints.

Strong Demand For Long Wheelbase Models

Another major contributor to the overall volumes has been BMW’s long wheelbase strategy. The company said its long wheelbase models continued to perform well in 2025, and the automaker registered a growth of 162 per cent year-on-year with 8,608 units sold. The 3 Series Long Wheelbase was the highest-selling premium sedan in the segment. Moving further, SUVs registered a consistent 22 per cent annual growth and shaped up BMW’s volumes with 10,748 units sold. The automaker said that SUVs now command a 60 per cent share in total sales. Notably, the X1 was the highest-selling SUV for the brand, followed by the X5.

With respect to MINI, the company registered a 3 per cent annual growth, backed by launches such as MINI Convertible, MINI Countryman JCW ALL4 and MINI Countryman SE ALL4 in. The MINI Cooper S registered a 47 per cent annual growth in 2025.

Lastly, the BMW G 310 RR was the brand’s most-selling motorcycle in 2025, and a 24 per cent growth in deliveries. The performance motorcycle segment saw BMW Motorrad lead multiple segments and the brand witnessed a 7 per cent year-on-year growth with its imported range. The BMW S 1000 RR, 900 GS/GSA, R 1300 GS/GSA were the most ‘in demand’ bikes from the brand’s global range.
