The BMW M3 CS Touring Set a lap time of 7:29.490 across the 20.83 km-long track in Germany.
BMW has set a new record at the venerable Nurburgring Nordschleife, setting a time of 7:29.490 with the new M3 CS Touring, a new record for station wagons at the 20.83 km-long track in Germany. Compared to the sedan version, which did the lap in 7:28.760, the Touring is less than a second slower.
This is not the first time an M3 station wagon has set a record at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, with the standard M3 Touring completing the lap in 7:35.060. This means the M3 CS Touring is nearly 5 seconds quicker around the track than the standard M3 Touring. The M3 CS Touring was driven by Jörg Weidinger, who is a test driver for BMW’s M Division.
The M3 CS Touring made its global debut in January 2025 and comes with a 3.0-litre, turbocharged, six-cylinder engine pumping out 543 bhp and 650 Nm. It hits 0-100 kmph in 3.5 seconds and top speed is limited to 300 kmph. It gets all-wheel drive, dynamic stability control, multiple driving modes and a specifically-tuned chassis. It gets regular steel brakes as standard, but can be optioned with Carbon Ceramic brakes. It is one of the most radical M3 station wagons as it focuses on weight reduction wherever possible – lighter seats, lighter crankshaft, lighter alloy wheels, and using carbon fibre in the body panels. Compared to the standard M3 Touring, the M3 CS Touring is 15 kg lighter.
Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH, said, “From the very beginning, it was clear that the BMW M3 CS Touring would set new standards in dynamics. With a time under 7:30 minutes, this model impressively demonstrates that this vehicle concept perfectly combines racing DNA with everyday usability.”
