BMW is set to make a significant impact at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, with a comprehensive display that merges the brand’s motorsport legacy, contemporary performance offerings, and a vision for its electric future. The event, taking place from July 10 to 13 at the historic Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, will mark four major UK premieres.

The highlight of BMW’s presence will be three major UK debuts, all of which offer a glimpse into the brand’s forthcoming Neue Klasse platform. Leading the pack is the BMW Vision Driving Experience, a high-performance development prototype that will participate in the festival’s iconic hill climb. Although not intended for production, the prototype is being used as a test bed for BMW’s new “Heart of Joy” technology—a system that integrates advanced drivetrain and dynamics management. The vehicle reportedly delivers up to 18,000 Nm of torque to the wheels, serving as a preview of what to expect from future Neue Klasse models, the first of which is scheduled to enter series production in autumn 2025.
Joining the lineup is the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X, a concept that previews the brand’s next-generation electric SUVs, foreshadowing the design direction of the upcoming BMW iX3. The third concept, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse saloon, will also be on display, showcasing the future styling and technological ethos of BMW’s core sedan range.

BMW’s M division is also making headlines at Goodwood, with the UK debut of the BMW M2 CS, the latest limited-run performance model from BMW M GmbH. Revealed globally earlier this year at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the M2 CS promises track-focused enhancements and exclusive design cues. It will be joined by the BMW M3 CS Touring, which will make its first appearance at the Goodwood hill climb.
Another significant unveiling is the BMW Concept Speedtop, a luxury shooting brake that blends bespoke craftsmanship with a heritage-inspired silhouette. This concept is set to enter an extremely limited production run of just 70 units worldwide. The car will be displayed in the BMW Individual Lounge, which also showcases the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, the brand’s flagship electric limousine.
BMW Group Classic will play a central role in celebrating three key anniversaries. The BMW 3 Series marks its 50th anniversary in 2025, and the milestone will be celebrated with a seven-generation parade on Thursday, July 10. Historic race variants, including the BMW 320 Group 5, BMW 318i touring car, and BMW M3 GT,R will take on the hill climb, driven by seasoned motorsport names such as Marc Surer, Dirk Adorf, and Andy Priaulx.
To commemorate 75 years of Formula 1, Marc Surer will also drive the Brabham BMW BT52 Turbo, the car that clinched the 1983 F1 World Championship. BMW Motorrad will mark 40 years since its 1985 Paris-Dakar rally victory with appearances by the original BMW R 80 G/S Paris-Dakar, which will tackle the hill climb during the festival.
