The XM Label Red set a record for the fastest hybrid electric production SUV, with a time of 10:48:60.

BMW XM Label Red has achieved a new hill climb record at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It now holds the record for the fastest hybrid electric production SUV at the hill climb event, with a time of 10:48:60, piloted by BMW test driver Matt Mullins.

The record for the fastest production SUV is held by the Lamborghini Urus, at 10:32:064, set in August 2022. Interestingly, the BMW XM Label Red is faster than the previous record holder for the fastest production SUV, the Bentley Bentayga which had a time of 10:49:902 at the 156-corner hill climb event in Colorado, USA.

The XM Label Red is BMW’s M Division’s most powerful model to date, producing 738 bhp and 1,000 Nm from a 4.4-litre V8 coupled with an electric motor. While its engine alone produces 577 bhp and 750 Nm, its e-motor produces 194 bhp and 280 Nm. The XM Label Red gets a 25.7 kWh battery with an electric-only range of up to 84 km. With all this power, the XM Label Red can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds (claimed) and has a claimed top speed of 250 kmph (or 290 kmph in cars fitted with the M Driver’s Package).
